what color are yours? they're ok to wear if you are a teenager or young adult, but most people tend to find colored lenses tacky (which is a shame, because i always wanted colored lenses)

I’m not sure if it’s a self-esteem issue in general, but it might be in the case you mentioned. With me, I wear contacts very rarely, I wear my glasses most of the time but on formal events where glasses would look in appropriate, I wear my contacts. I only own colored contacts…I used to wear clear ones but I have a bad case of dry eyes and after putting my contacts in my eyes, I have trouble taking them out at night and have to fidget with my eyeball and try sliding down my contacts for atleast 30 mins. I had a terrible incident where I put in an old pair of clear contacts in my eye one morning, at night while taking them out, I only found one of them in my eye…I thought it had either melted in my eye (because it felt so thin cuz it was old) or then went in the back of my eye. I didn’t sleep that night…was up for 6 hrs pulling the clear shield which I thought might be my contact from my eye…I was pulling it with my nails and made my eye blood shot red. After crying like a baby, and deciding there’s nothing I can do at this point…and i’ll just go to sleep, I found the missing contact lens on the floor and wanted to pull my hair out. In short, I am scarred for life. After that whenever I have ever put clear contacts in my eyes I start panicing and getting anxious and am so afraid they won’t come out and because they’re clear, i’ll have a hard time finding them like last time. From that day forward, I decided, if I was going to put lens in my eyes, they would have to be colored.

I will say that I also LIKE the way some colored contacts look, my bad experience with clear contacts isn’t the only reason I wear colored contacts. Also, for those people who have a dislike for color contacts, I notice them laughing at the fact that some people wear them ONLY on special occasions because it supposedly makes them look better…or so they think. I find that kind of strange too, or I don’t know…maybe people just reserve colored contacts for special occasions. But many girls I know, who own prescripted contacts, have colored ones that they wear on a daily basis and it’s sort of become a part of who they are and it doesn’t seem odd anymore. If I didn’t have a distaste for contacts in general, i’d probably be one of those girls…until ofcourse my eye sight stops getting worse so I can laser eye surgery.

You know…I first started wearing contacts when I was 17, and I started with colored ones, so that I could get the hang of it…
See that’s the thing…if u get colored contacts just to wear sometimes, then by all means…but I feel like it’s a waste of $$ to buy prescription contacts (which btw cost a hell of alot more than just a single non-Rx pair) and let them sit there and waste… but that’s just me. I’m not sure if they actually DO go bad once they’re opened but I treat em as such.

Not that I know of any guys who wear them, since we are not attention whores like our opposite half, but I always found the idea of putting anything in my eyes scary. There are also horror stories of how people bought sub-standard contacts and left them on in their eyes, and they nearly got blind because of it. There was a big suit in my state couple of years back about this. You are supposed to take your contacts out daily, but being lazy or rather annoyed at taking the contacts out each day, people left them on though there aren’t usually a lot of problems because of it.

I know I sound like a hypocrite, but I think guys wearing colored lenses is just weird.

I never leave my colored contacts in, except for maybe very rarely when I was away from home and didn’t have my glasses or lens case (it’s happened)…clear lenses on the other hand… :hinna:

My personal opinion is that desi girls need to get over this hype with colored lenses. Yes, wow you get to change your eye color, but seriously nothing is more fake and idiotic than that. I personally have not seen one single of them were it looked decent. All of them always looked fake and hideous. They actually give them a vampire, dracula look in the eyes. Its freakish! Will never be able to take them seriously, no offense to anyone here!

Lol, calling us fake/idiotic/hideous etc....but of course we shouldn't take offense to it. ;)

What is the reason you wear contacts, can I ask?

I love my own eyes too but somtimes like on eid and other occasions i sometimes want to wear contacts and like i said I rarely wear them like i wear them on eid, and like 2 or 3 other events around the year Never alwayz.

When i first time started wearing coloured contacts i loved them soo much that i wanted to wear them everyday but after wearing them for a week i was bored of em …so i didn’t wear them cuz i really like my own eye colour… i probably like my own colour more than other colours but the thing is sometimes i want to wear them for like a week u know cuz i just want to change it up a bit but i alwayz get bored of coloured contacts even before their expiry date. The last time i wore em was on eid and thats it and those pics were from eid actually.

I love my own eyez a lot… I hope you guyz get what i’m sayin. lol

And oh also because i wear glasses… and i dont like wearing glasses on eid or weddings or special occasions… so insteaded of clear ones i rather get colours since i like em better.

i don't like coloured contacts and never will. I was put off by a girl at college wearing coloured contacts of a blue or green colour. they were OBVIOUSLY not her natural colour because no one has that kind of blue eyes. I also HATE it when guys wear coloured contacts. Like seriously? They always look fake! Don't mean to be offensive to anyone.

if you wear it keeping in mind the shade of your contacts , your skin colour and even your hair colour - it looks good.

either blend out the liner or used brown liner for blue eyes for example or use eye shadow as liner

i've tried out coloured contacts about 3 times, and i never really got comfortable with it. my eye colour can look really hazel to dark brown, i don't think i'll ever be trying contacts again. =/

But my all time fav contacts are the fresh look colourblends: sterling gray. it is soo purteh.
And Yes it is kinda not so natural lookin one… but the thing is it does not look scary on me, it blends well with my eye adn face… and i personally kinda like it to be Not so natural looking… cuz if i’m gonna wear contacts then obviously i want them to look very different from my eyes. ( I Love my eye colour too a lot) but when i wear contacts i want it to be kinda obviouse Here i’ll post the pic here:

really depends on ur complexion and features. I got me some honey colored ones and still regret wearing them on my sisos wedding.. they were the most unnatural thing I ever put in my eyes.

hazel and grey ones, on the other hand, look perfectly good on me ( at least in person.. u cant really tell if they are fake)

most lipstick shades we wear are not out natural lip colorss just so u guys know.

I wear contacts for a change sometimes...but mine are a really dark greenish brown. So its not an eye popping grey or anything.

I guess it depends on who is wearing them and how they're wearing them. If you get tacky like that Jaitley girl...then no its never pretty.

But if you can pull it off tastefully...why not? Its just another cosmetic.

i have eyesight problem i got lenses in peral grey n hazel n transparent also i normally wear glasses its just soem parties or wedding when i wear lenses i normally donlt like them but when i m dress up i dont want to put up glasses n of course i dont like to bump into any1 so i have to wear them i prefer transparent one but my mum insist me for coloured one n she bought theses two coloured lenses for me

but if i m visiting anyone on anyone coming to my place i wear my glasses

^It's not brown enough for me =/ I want something darker that looks more natural. I've been on the hunt for brown prescription contacts that have color, but not too much.
