Hey everyone,
I just got my Mehndi outfit and tried it on- its shocking pink kameez dupatta and leaf green lehenga- i tried it on for 15 min MAX and when i took it off, my back and underarms are all shocking pink!!! I dont want that to happen on my Mehndi since i wont be able to do anything and would be pink on the shadi!
Do you think i can do anything to the jora? It has gota, sequence and diamontee work on it-cant get another one made, and even though i used a face scrub and the color came off, what if it doesnt when i’ve worn the jora for a longer duration?!?Or if not the jora, what will make the color come off easily?!?
Try putting on baby powder. It's the moisture on your skin that will make the color come out. a lot of Pakistani clothes are like that! But the idea of wearing an undershirt is really good too
I already have a silk lining (60 gram raw silk) but even that shocking pink..i think the powder is a good idea...
Ive heard usually colors such as shocking pink, red, turquoise run out- specially cuz the pakistani colors arnt pakka:s I dont think ill be able to wear a tank top, cuz the shirt is with lining and ill probably feel hot then:s
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrm I didn't even kno this was possible for bridal stuff... aren't they supposed to make sure this doesn't happen? :|
Can you take it back to your designer? Maybe he might have some suggestions?
I was told that stuff only happens when a cheap material or bad dye was used...(it's happened with a sari blouse) I think the only thing you can do is get a new lining to protect your skin, sorry. LOL imagine what the groom will see if his bride has pink armpits on the wedding night.
Telling me! I think its probably the lining and not the chiffon itself- I've spoken to the designer and would try to get another lining. Its not cheap material, its just the dye and the shade of magenta/hot pink :(
And yes it is possible! Btw I once attended a wedding where the bride's Jhoomar's color came off a little on the side of her forehead cuz of the heat/sweat....And then i was told that sometimes that does happen with real rubies..but thats never happened with me thankGod!
Oh wow ! That must really suck ! I think powder is the way to go And if u tend to sweat easily then I'd highly suggest to remain in cool place and also use rub on anti presporant. It'll help. It's Just like those churiyaan which leaves color argh.
Hope it works out for u tho Hun.. Good luck ! Congrats on ur wedding ! When is it.

Hahaha yeah the churiyan too! Its probably just Pakistani dye...Sigh. These are the things which turn every normal girl into bridezella!
I dont sweat that easily but yes ill definitely use the powder and deo...
Thanks girls! hug
Wedding is in the last week of dec inshAllah :)
I had the same issue with my mayoon ka jora.... it was yellow and the color was all over my body ..... even on my stomach. Thank God mayoon is so much earlier than the wedding.
I think you should just get the lining changed, that will be better than you going crazy on the mehdni day, worrying about the dye coming off.
Yes Ill try doing that...Thanks! But the good thing is, I have a gap between the Mehndi and Shadi- But on the gap, im getting my Mehndi done, so i cant scrub after ive put on mehndi! According to my sister, i should keep scrubbing after the mehendi while she and my cousins go out for nashta and stuff...and if nothing happens i should bleach my back and armpits..:p shes thinking its a joke! But khair...lining change i guess!
I have had similiar things happen to me with some Pakistani clothes. A shower will take care of it. Hopefully the same won't happen with the wedding dress. Try it on before hand and see. If it does happen, keep some astringent on hand, that should take away the color/ or just be prepared to use soap and water. Try wearing a light chemise underneath so even if it does happen, the damage is minimal.
The only other thing I can think of is to find a good body scrub (St. Ives makes a nice one). If a simply body wash in the shower doesn't do the trick, maybe a scrub will help remove any remaining color.
Thanks alot :) Im getting the lining changed and then getting it stitched again...and i did use the St Ives face scrub to remove the color ;) So if it does happen again InshAllah it wont, keeping my fingers crossed then thats the only resort
Thank you all for your support! Hugs Any other suggestions please keep them coming!
