i got this new a-line kameez/dress made. it’s black in color, with deep purple karhai done on it. pretty nice and a bit casual stuff. it comes with a dupatta, but not a pajama. i want to get a pajama made with it, but i’m at a loss as to what color to make it.
black i’m thinking would be too much since everything is black. and as far as i can see, the pajamas/culotte (sp?) are usually not int he same color as the top. soo i was thinking that maybe like i could either:
get a printed material with those two colors and make a pajama out of it
make the pajama out of black, but make the bottom part a solid purple matching the karhai (does that make sense?)
or just wear a white pajama?
i dunno what to do. help please!
oh also, i have this other A-line kameez, but originally it came with a chust chunnat pajama. this thing is more formal (lots of golds and karhai on a blue like this). so are the chust pajamas still in? i can’t seem to tell honestly. i’ve seen this
and so it makes me think that maybe my pajama is workable, but i also see a lot of a-lines with wide pajamas, though above the ankle.

Go for deep purple quolots (i prefer quolots better with a-lines). And since u said its casual type dress i wouldnt advice u to really go for an extravagent quolots. If it was formal/party wear i would have suggested u get quolots boders done with black embellishment. But for casual look, just go for plain quolots or u can even try and get them dyed in two colors like coming black to purple.
u can make the bottom of the pants with the printed two colours fabric almost 4-6 inches bottom like having a patch on it all around. with having the base black.
sazzie: thanks for the visuals! that actually helps a lot hehe. the 3rd pic is what i had in mind with the printed material, but i think it’s the luck of the draw as to what kind of print i get. and the second pic is pretty much what i was thinking of. it actually looks quite cute.
maham: ok can you define what the various classifications of the pajams are? cuz i just call them all pajamas =/ the one i was thinking of were the ones with a flare at the bottom. are those quolottes? what other type of pajamas are there? thing is, i have another top pretty similar to this one, and it came with a flare pajama and it looked weird to me. so i was thinking about maybe going with a straight legged, but flared one. ummm kinda like this one. (pic following) because flare + flare to me sounds like a lot of flares and gives me a weird shape =/ what do you think?
the straight pajamas, but with a top with the shape like the second picture
or this one, but longer
and i can’t get anything dyed so that’s why i was thinking about getting a two-toned thing with a different kapra patti at the bottom
shk_14: yeah that’s exactly what i was thinking about
what about white you guys? would white be TOO much? and please narrow it down hehe or i’ll just flip a coin
Chust Pyjama in my opinion is always an elegant dress , never fails to get noticed , in a positive way , I would keep the chust pyjama..
My vote still goes for a plain purple pyjama .. maximum with some purple borders … white will just involve too many colours i think … I have hardly seen purple and white create magic together …
For the second pic - churidar/chusst pajama all the way. Because the outfit is quite loose from the underbust downwards, something more form-fitting will give the outfit a better balance.
It’ll just look better full stop. I abhor those freakin’ ankle swingers! Get any bottoms apart from those, please!!! They look so ridiculous!!!
