Colon cleansing

Any1 here heard of colon cleansing and had it done???

Re: Colon cleansing

bunch of bs i tell ya

Re: Colon cleansing

Most doctors wouldn't recommend it because it's not needed, and it can be harmful if done.

Colon has it's own cleansing system that it employs to rid the waste, bacteria, etc.

In some instances, a doctor might have you do it before a colon exam, but it's not so often.

Re: Colon cleansing

it's very popular in the carribean. they do it about once a year with castor oil.

Re: Colon cleansing

Taco bell for breakfast, McDonalds for Lunch, and then Nihari for dinner. Chalo, colon saaf.

Just kidding. I am with teggy on this one.

Re: Colon cleansing

If you exercise and eat in moderation and drink plenty of water/juices you should be fine!

Re: Colon cleansing

I heard of detoxification, but that has very specific rules. Is that the same thing?

Re: Colon cleansing

I think the theory is that there can be a build-up in there and its good to have the occasional "spring cleaning"....its basically just giving yourself a bad case of diarrhea and/or an enema. I guess it couldnt hurt to do once a year....

Something that I saw when my son was going to a special kids hospital for eating issues is that some of the kids with trouble had "delayed gastric emptying". Their systems didnt push food waste thru. Once properly treated, some of them had pounds - literally - of wastes stuck in there that came out, their little systems started to process better and they were able to eat more and better since they werent "full" all the time. I imagine the same thing could happen to adults.

Re: Colon cleansing

Many ppl from my family hav had this done, including my sis - n they all sed it had vry positive effects... my sis claimed dat she lost quite a few pounds from it, her skin became cleaner/healthier, n she felt great from d inside too.. i aint tried it yet, but was thinking i might do, as its meant to be good for ppl who suffer from IBS..

Re: Colon cleansing

If you suffer from IBS, something to perhaps look into is whether you may have Giardia. My son had what appeared to be reflux with constipation (due to delayed gastric emptying) - turns out that he had this parasite. It is very common in US but even more so in Pak.

Re: Colon cleansing

Ive heard of Crohn's Disease, but never heard of Giardia - will look into this - thanx for dat x

Re: Colon cleansing

Re: Colon cleansing

Hmm IBS?? What are symptoms of that ?

Re: Colon cleansing

so you loose weight if u get it done?

I wanna loose 3 pounds :halo:

Re: Colon cleansing

The following are all common in IBS: bloating and abdominal distension; diarrhoea, constipation, or alternating diarrhoea and constipation; a feeling of incomplete emptying of the rectum and abdominal cramps that may be eased by passing wind or passing a motion.
*Other possible symptoms that aren't related to the gut include backache, tiredness, headaches, and urinary or gynaecological symptoms. *

Re: Colon cleansing

cleansing karnee hai milk n red bull sara kuch saaf... but its better no to do it unless n until the doc reccommends for severe constipation n the chances of piles...

Re: Colon cleansing

DO NOT get any type of colonic done. It is completely unnecessary and potentially harmful and fatal if done incorrectly. The pounds you think you lose are actually nothing more than dehyrdation (losing a mess of pounds in a few days is a sign of dehydration, not fat loss).

The people doing it are not doctors, and they can easily peforate the colon with a small misstep. Also, what are their standards of hygiene and sterilization?

Instead of taking the quick way out, change your eating habits by incorporating more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fiber and limit processed foods, white starches, refined sugar, etc. Drink more water, exercise, and if you really need to detox, why not fast for a few days (however instead of opening your roza with samosas and pakoras, do it with a balanced meal.)

Seriously, save yourself the time and trouble and potential harm.

Re: Colon cleansing

people actually do this?
