Hi guys,
I am planning to transfer to university from my college soon. I am taking Business Administration course at Humber College and I have few Universities in my mind. I am planning on applying to Ryerson, York, U of T, Ottawa, Western, Guelph-Humber, and Brock. I just want to know how to apply there? What is the process of applying? And what are your recommendations? I am waiting for your comments, suggestions, and rants. I will greatly appreciate it. THanks
Re: College to University Transfers
My advice to you would be to consult with your advisor and direct contact with the University you are planning to transfer.
sincerely yours,
Ms. Captain Loti
Re: College to University Transfers
I agree with Ms. Loti there. U should also go to those uni and ur college website to c whether those uni's are going to transfer ur credits.
When ur aplying for a uni, all u need to do is mail ur grades with a letter from ur councellor i think.
Re: College to University Transfers
Thanks Captain Loti and musicmania. Well our college is hosting university fairs this wednesday and I'll have the opportunity to consult the respective universities. I am also planning to go to Ryerson physically to ask them about transferring there. If any of u guys find information on college to university transfers, please let me know. Also, give me advice and suggestions on business studies. Thanks
Re: College to University Transfers
Cheak the transfer student info on the uni's website, it will give you lot of information on how to apply, etc etc.
Re: College to University Transfers
i know you posted this up a while ago, and i don’t know if i can still help out or not…but i’ll give you some pointers..maybe they can still help.
i’m a transfer student myself, and like you i did the bus. admin diplomar in college. the only university that will give you full credit for what you did is Ryerson. they’ll put you directly into third year. you’ll have to do some reachbacks, but it’s just one or two courses. U of T, and York i know for sure don’t give you enough credit. they’ll stick you in first year with giving you only two credits. it’s not worth it, and they’re so expensive!
i personally suggest going to Ryerson cause they’re not overly expensive like U of T, and they give you full credit for your diploma.
on how to apply to these universities, log on to their websites - Ryerson’s is www.ryerson.ca, and see how you can apply. i know that there are some universities that don’t accept new students until the September semester begins, whereas some universities will take you any semester so long as there are courses available that you need to take.
i hope that helps!
..and feel free to PM me if you need any more info. i’d be glad to help you out! ![]()
Re: College to University Transfers
Given that I also wish to transfer, I thought I'd mention you'd be required to submit your high school diploma, college diploma, as well as course outlines (in some cases).
Re: College to University Transfers
Thank you for your response, smilester. Last week I went to Ryerson and asked them information. They told me to apply stratight up on www.ouac.on.ca/105 because it is much easier and faster compared to applying by mail. They also told me that I have to submit my course outlines, college transcript and some application by March 1 at the undergraduate office.
I want to ask you which courses should I specialize in if I indeed choose to go to Ryerson? My personal interest is towards Finance/Management specialization. However, accounting has the most potential in any business course and I don't actually like accounting.
For more info, I will PM you and thanks again for all your help.
