1-See teacher tell you in school 2 + 2 = 4 (first repetition . )
You go home, put 2 banana and 2 oranges. and count 4(sec repetition in different environment)
Now you sort of make 2 + 2 =4 idea your own, personalized.
(This is how this pattern helps me.)

One more thing.
2- See if you drive some where, you look for familiar signs to guess were you are. You think.. “oh I see McDonald”… then you brain tells you… there is going to a burger king ahead, from memory.
So your brain find one thing..McDonald.. and then it anticipated related thing burger king.. and your brain sort of calculated from memory how far burger king going to be.

So with 2 familiar points, your brain helped you navigate.
I think.. this pattern helps people who memorize quan. In similar way.
