Re: colicky baby even now :(
last nite she was cryin for hours and i found myself shakin her a bit and feelin soooooo violent!! but thankfully i controlled.. i feel so helpless and hate to see her in pain like this.
Hey mall. Just wanted to point out one thing, if you ever feel like doing or even almost doing what you mentioned above. Leave the baby in her crib or in a safe place. Step out of the room, close the door behind you & probably go to another room & close that door as well. Give yourself 5-10 minute break & no you won't be a bad mother if you leave the baby crying that is if she indeed is colicky.
Shaking the baby even slightly can be very dangerous for her brain. Although she is MashaAllah 4 months her internal organs are still developing.
Also when she cries, as hard as it may sound you yourself try to be as calm as possible. Babies can sense our tense feelings as well & sometimes that can make things worse.
Have you tried swaddling her when she has these crying periods? at this age they are still learning that they are in an outer world & not in their mother's womb. Making her feel secure might help with crying.
Turn on your vacuum cleaner or washing machine. Anything that makes loud sounds. (they are used to hearing sounds inside mommies. This can make them feel secure as well)
Take her for a stroll or car ride
Try putting her in warm water. My baby had one week where she had these crying fits & warm water helped.
Also reflux babies don't always have to throw up or even spit up. My daughter has acid reflux. I can usually hear her gulping or gasping for air which tells me her reflux is working up.
Burp her as often as you can during her feedings.
Keep her in an upright position after every feeding for at least 15 minutes.
Also if its acid reflux small but frequent feedings can do wonders.
