Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
Death of the seven persons is really sad , Attack on airport is intelligence failure .
but we are here due to foolish acts of ZIA AND HIS FOLLOWERS .
We have successfully dealt with a terrorist attack
Details of cold storage tragedy are yet not known .
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
Adding to what I said, all the airports come under the jurisdiction of CAA, which is a federal govt agency. Before we blame the provincial govt, wet should kick the behind of federal govt.
Can moderators replace the name of Qaim Ali Shah with Nawaz Sharif, the PM of Pakistan? CAA comes under federal government. Airport security has nothing do with to do with QAS. Responsibility of security of airports lie on ASF and FIA both are the federal government agencies. When rangers and army were doing rescuing operation, had they not heard cries of people trapped inside? What have they done?
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
This is another shameful event on the shoulders of Sindh government. Though airport attack was failure of Pakistani Intel community,** but 7 people trapped inside the cold storage of private cargo company required simple effort of rescue.**
Media coverage by Shahzeb Khanzada of ET reportedly demanded authorities to take action... but as usual Thar incident... those 7 people died coldly in suffocation.
PM, President and Sindh Gov't should fire this old and mentally unstable guy from the Chief minister position.
Qasoor kisi ka, Qasoorwar kisi ko ... what a way of determining the responsibility.
First of all, this incidence is result of appeasing Taliban, talking about negotiation and wasting precious time to crush them, when Taliban all the time is kicking the ass of Pakistan and incompetent Pakistan government, killing Pakistanis all over Pakistan indiscriminately and destroying Pakistan precious assets (strategic assets, defence assets, as well as civilian related assets).
Secondly ... as according to TV news media, Nawaz Shareef was more concerned about assets and had no concern about saving lives ... Asasay bach gaye (assets got saved) buss.
When rescue team wanted to demolish the wall of the cold storage to save people trapped there and asked CAA (that works under federal government) for permission, obeying Nawaz wishes, who was more concerned about assets and had no concern about lives at stake, did not allowed rescue team to demolish the wall ... and now the building is in such situation that whole cold storage building could come down anytime, and there is no option to demolish walls to rescue lives.
Now, how can one blame Qaim Ali shah for this when really he could not have done anything what was federal government matter?
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
:k: A perfect analysis. If it is true, shame on NS and his cronies. This is more serious than money laundering. Some one should register FIR of seven murders against PM of Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Heavily armed gunmen who attacked Karachi’s international airport planned to destroy airplanes and possibly take hostages, Pakistani government and security officials said Monday.
The attackers, some disguised as security forces, stormed parts of Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport late Sunday, killing at least 18 people before government troops regained control early Monday. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Monday for the assault, which appeared to dash hopes for peace talks.
The attack began around 11 p.m. Sunday and lasted until dawn. It was well-coordinated and involved 10 attackers who were carrying grenades, suicide vests, rocket launchers, automatic rifles and enough food for a prolonged assault, the officials said.
Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, a spokesman for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said the attackers “planned to destroy all the airplanes” that were parked at the airport.
“The terrorists had a plan to bring down our aviation industry,” Wani said. “The valiant effort of [security forces] defeated the terrorists, and the national assets were saved.”
[Incompetent Prime Minister through his spokesperson showed concern about the assets and showed happiness that assets got saved … did not showed any regret about lives lost … r****ather, did not even mentioned anything about lives lost … that shows his prioritieswhere assets are everything and there are no concerns about lost lives and lives in danger of getting lost … when even at that time many lives were in danger … plus there were around 7 men trapped in cold storage fighting for their lives]
… … … … … …
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
I guess it was CM's mistake to have appeared on scene and attracted all the criticism if the airport is federal property/under federal control. If Malik Riaz or others can pinch in with whatever they can then Qaim Ali Shah could've ordered aid to show respect for life but Thar has told us otherwise.
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
^^^ I do not think it was mistake to appear on scene. Incident happened in province where he is in control, so he showed his concerns and also clarified what is not under his control ... I mean CAA, team that fight armed terrorist in Pakistan (terrorists who are fighting the state), army, rangers, etc ... are all under the control of federal government.

When I said 'mistake' I did not mean it in the sense that he shouldn't even have come there... mistake is from accusations view, I guess he would've been blamed one way or the other anyways... but IMO he should've still called Sindh govt machinery to jump in and help in rescue instead of waiting for the Fed employees help.

This is vicious circle or catch 22 for QAS. If he went to airport, was responsible, he should have not gone. Had he not gone airport, was still responsible.
Re: Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and cold storage death toll of 7 people
the dead bodies are not even in condition to recognize them, who will be held responsible for 7 murders, they didn't die because of ttp, they died bc of lack of governance whether provincial or government, last call came around 7pm , caller faizan pleaded for help to save them. heart breaking

You are right. For a group of Pakistanis having biased mindset, that would have been the case.

Well, I do not think he could have done what you are saying, as then, whatever would have happened, he would have got blamed and sindh government could have got prosecuted by federal government and certainly CAA (at least in theory).
For instance ... if Sindh rescue team would have demolished the wall of cold storage to save people trapped there than CAA would have sued Sindh government of illegally stepping in and destroying their asset. If after demolishing the wall, some trapped in cold storage may have got killed than CAA could have further sued Sindh government of causing death at cold storage.
So, Sindh government could have only came in if federal government had asked them to step in ... and I do not think federal government asked Sindh government to act.

yeah, lawsuits in Pakistan are a reality and they happen every hour, life is not important but 'illegal stepping in/asset' is, logon ka kia hay roz martay hayn.
