Re: Cold feet

Re: Cold feet

shweetz - ur hands/feet wat color they normally stays?
Re: Cold feet
lois: they are white mostly. never been blue-ish....could this be low BP?
how do i fix poor circulation? I exercise every day.
Re: Cold feet
You need iron...your blood count is low.... :D I have had the same problem all my life Nothing to panic....it's pretty common....:D
Get a complete blood work done and talk to your Physician...I'm sure they will suggest iron supplements...
I have exactly the same, if your feet and hands go bluish its called Raynaud's phenomenon,
Re: Cold feet
I have it. My hands and feet are always cold during winter.
Its not a big deal. I've noticed it happens a lot with skinny/thin girls, less adipose tissue --> so ur blood vessels in your extremities vasoconstrict to keep your body temp normal. That explanation works for me :P
Always keep the thick socks handy.
Re: Cold feet
wear socks
Re: Cold feet
My hands are always warm and THAT bothers me. I always have a fan on in the room (even if it's 10 degrees).
Re: Cold feet
my feet are always cold as well. anemia perhaps?
Re: Cold feet
^^ I hope not :(! but having anemia would mean losing hair too right?
Choozy: im going to try and take iron supplements (but taking any vitamin supplements make me throw up for some reason....i've tried many and they all smell terrible!).
thanks guys.....i hate wearing socks in the house though ...

**Just wear two pair instead of one...................
one does not work for me..............:)

shweets not necessarily @ losing hair. Some people with anemia do and some dont.
first get a blood test to see if you need iron supplements. dont take it if you dont need it.
b-complex (vitamins) make me gag! i hate the smell and the taste. ![]()

Shweet, try taking them with orange juice or any juice you like. It makes it a bit easier.
Re: Cold feet
thanks shay!...im going to try doing that. i've ended up throwing away so many bottles of vitamins because I thought they went bad or something...
Re: Cold feet
take vitamins and iron through food, do extremities exercise and eat fish, egg, olives or the other hot stuff
Re: Cold feet
There are so many reasons for this.
Some are here:
1- Cold feet warm hands and intolerance to heat. Hyperthyroidism? (using fan even in cold atmosphere may mean thyroid problem.
2-Other thing for many is poor circulation and it may not affect hands at all.
3- Low blood pressure has very drastic reasons with other symptoms and is not even a disease itself. Don't know why people hung up on 'low blood pressure'. Not sure what that mean in otherwise healthy person.
4- Some people who smoke have Burger's disease. Spasm of blood vessels of feet. They also have cramps when they walk.
5- Raynauds affects hands more commonly. The tip of fingers change color with change in temperature. They can have pain in finger tips.
I would advise checkup of thyroid gland function knowing you have heat intolerance.
Full blown hyperthyroidism can also have weight loss despite good eating, loose motions, palpitations, bulging eyes etc.
Walking is good and sitting in such a way not to pinch blood vessels at knee joint for a long time can alleviate some problem. While sitting, keep your feet moving periodically to keep circulation going.
