Cold Coffee, Pakistani Style

One of my best foodie memories from Karachi is the from the first summer I ever spent alone there waaay back in '89. My taya lived in Defence Phase V, and my cousin used to make tended insanely delicious cold coffee drinks which we used to enjoy in the chath.

This is of course waayy before Starbucks, and frappucinos…Karachiites were ahead of the curve :snooty:

I want to try to replicate KHI style cold coffee for Iftar tonite, but don’t remember what exactly made it so good, lol! Google Chacha led to me to our venerable Shireen Anwar:

Would vanilla frozen yoghurt be an okay substitute for ice cream? Any other tips, tricks, totkas?

Re: Cold Coffee, Pakistani Style

I don't think frozen yogurt would work. Its bit tart in my opinion. Try gelato instead.
Here is my recipe. Use Instant coffee beaten or brew espresso and blend with milk, simple syrup and ice. Pour over vanilla or chocolate gelato.
You can use MnMs and chocolate syrup to garnish.
