Long-term coffee drinking does not appear to increase a person’s risk of early death and may cut a person’s chances of dying from heart disease, according to a study published on Monday.
Previous studies have given a mixed picture of health effects from coffee, finding a variety of benefits and some drawbacks from the popular drink. The new study looked at people who drank caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee.
Researchers led by Esther Lopez-Garcia of Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in Spain followed 84,214 U.S. women from 1980 to 2004 and 41,736 U.S. men from 1986 to 2004.
They found that regular coffee drinking – up to six cups a day – was not associated with increased deaths among the study’s middle-aged participants. In fact, the coffee drinkers, particularly the women, experienced a small decline in death rates from heart disease.

i have heard that the caffiene in the coffee or tea can make your cramps worse, so they say to avoid them when you have your period. but at the same time the amount of caffiene you should drink depends on how your body deals with it. a cup or 2 a day isn’t that bad…6 IMO is like…a lot…but not bad still. as for it being poison, well…we can see that it certainly isn’t

coffee or any substance, drug or herb 4 that matter does not have a uniform effect on every human being. every person's body chemistry and genetic makeup is different. the same substance can have different effects on different ppl. for soem ppl it has negative effects, that is there experience..that is y those r the ppl that say its not good 4 u.. nd others dont
BUT..actually it isnt good 4 u because it doesnt have any nutrional value..and 1 bogus study done and written on paper cannot discount hte 100s of studies done on coffee that shows its negative effects on the human body and mind..

I cant believe ppl come up with crap like that...OMG, so there are ppl out there that actually dont let their girls have tea/coffee????????? im very surprised, to be honest.
anyways, i personally dont think it messes up the cycle or have girls get their periods early. however, i know a couple of girls that complaint abt cramps getting worse if they drink coffee during their first day or two ONLY !!!!!

Soni27, you may be right that this study may not have the most accurate information. Usually studies don't as they are pathways to long term research. Some things we heard many years ago from our grandmas have along the years been proven to be ineffective or even inaccurate so the best thing to do is to get information and make wise decisions based on your best ability and understanding.

Started taking tea after dinner (other than my usual intake during the day) for few months couple of years back, started suffering from insomnia and other health issues (mental and physical), was prescribed anti anxiety medication, sleeping pills and some other medication for physical health.
Most of the times, people's health issues are due to the fact that they themselves mess up their body's natural chemicals with the intake of these toxins not knowing if they suit them.
Every body reacts differently to different toxins. If you have a very strong and robust physical health, you might not even notice the difference but people with sensitive system should limit their intake of coffee as per their own body's acceptance level or requirement of the toxin. Excceeding that would definitely mess up their system.

coffee is good so far its black..as 1 cup of black coffee(starbucks) has almost 10 calories only and its good when u r on a diet..helps u to reduce ur weight and things like that...keeps u awake and saturated for sometime ..so u dont think of grabing that donut/croissant. while on diet..but i personally agree that excess of everything is bad...so i very rarely go for coffee.and whenever i do i make sure it should ocntain only like 78 to 80 calories...(i prefer cappuccino with extra light whipped cream)
but in summers its very seldom but in winters i do have max 2 cups in a day and that too not daily...
