Ladies,
I have a couple of Coach bags in the signature Jacquard fabric. Im beginning to hate them because it attracts all sorts of lint, dust, etc.
How do you guys clean yours?
I thought they had a cleaning service but I guess not…

Re: COACH BAG
im confused too, what is a coach bag?
Re: COACH BAG
don't know - cause I'm not into Coach brand...
however - you paid so much for a brand name - and it's hard to maintain? I'd rather get some non-brand name stuff that looks great so I can have the option to throw it out and not feel guilty that I spent so much on it! Plus I can have a variety of things with the amount you pay for one bag
Please post what the benefits are for purchasing Coach brand. I have Hugo Boss stuff if there is anything special about Coach brand - I might consider it in the future... :)
Re: COACH BAG
I keep mine in its pouch given with it....other than that i dont just toss it anywhere or put it on the ground...if i am out somewhere i keep it in my lap or on a table
Re: COACH BAG
found this online:
Designer handbags are great! Wonderful quality and they last forever. But when something lasts so long and you use it a lot, it does require some cleaning attention.
What to do? After doing some research, I believe you have four options-
Check with the store from which you bought the purse
Pay a professional (Be careful, not all drycleaners will work)
A do it yourself cleaning concoction
Use the Coach recommended cleaners
Store Service
Some stores which carry the Coach brand also offer purse cleaning as a follow up service to the customer. Nordstrom is one of these stores. Call the store from which you purchased your purse to see if this is a possibility. This follow up customer service can also be considered when making your purchase. If you are planning to keep your purse for a long time, then you may want to purchase from a place that provides this service to its customers.
Pay to Have Your Purse Professionally Cleaned
Professionally cleaning a purse is different from dry cleaning garments. If you are looking to your local drycleaner to do the cleaning, you need to ask if the company has experience cleaning purses. I would also suggest a reference or two from satisfied customers before you hand over your designer bag. Purse cleaning needs to be done manually so make sure the drycleaner will clean your bag in this manner.
A Do It Yourself Concoction
Yes, it is true you can find solutions to just about anything online. There are lots of people with lots of opinions and suggestions. This vast array of information is a great benefit to the ever-evolving Internet. You can find out all kinds of ways people have tried to clean their purses at home. For the cloth bags, using a light colored cloth, warm water, and a gentle soap was the most frequently found solution. A light colored cloth is to be stressed! Try a small test area with anything you try. Shout wipes were also used for a spot stain. The forums referenced suede cleaners found on eBay, but none was specially stated at being the best. Coach does make suede cleaner. Others washed their bags in the washing machine. The washing machine approach makes me very nervous, but I guess it works for some people.

^ SGC this was great!!!! Thank you so much!

I like some of their bags...not all. For daily use, I have the large black Carly in fabric and love the design so much. They're strong, durable and dont get raggedy easily...they've got a reputation for that. It takes a lot for a Coach to get tattered. Mine is just a bit dusty looking and that bothers me a lot. However, you're right about spending a lot. I did feel guilty about it later. But oh well...whats done is done. :)
Im a purse girl so the benefits are the same as the benefits would be for someone who is into shoes. If you like something, you will pay for it. Some people spend loads on bags, some on shoes, some on jewelry, some on clothes, etc etc etc. We all have our weaknesses. Mine is purses. One of my sisters loves shoes, another loves jewelry and the last one just goes shopping in all of our closets...lol.
I keep mine in its pouch given with it....other than that i dont just toss it anywhere or put it on the ground...if i am out somewhere i keep it in my lap or on a table
I try to be careful with it too!!! But its hard...I commute twice a day on the train into the city. So, sometimes its hard to keep it looking all nice and purty.
Maybe I shouldnt use it everyday? Do you think thats it? But I bought it for daily use!

I think its more of a US thing or something...lots of people dont know of Coach. :)
Re: COACH BAG
i have a couple of coach bags but mine arent dirty, plus you get a cleaning kit with the bag so use that
Re: COACH BAG
I didnt get a cleaning kit with mine and I bought mine at a Coach store.
Re: COACH BAG
i have quiet a few of them so i dont wear the same all the time....maybe thats why mine arent dirty yet....i am not sure about the cleaning kit you can call and ask the store. Umm i dont worry too much about it getting dirty...as you said...its meant to be used....so just enjoy it
This reminds me. I have a juicy couture pink terry cloth hand bag. I have no idea how i'm supposed to clean it. I used it a lot so its a little dirty around the edges. Can I just throw it in the wash?
Re: COACH BAG
