CNN Footage Required

Does anyone know where I can get a short clip of people singing and dancing in the street - specifically the one that CNN showed when Baghdad fell?

Need it urgently!

:konfused:

From CNN ???

What for?

Do you mean the one where they destory saddam's statue. I dont remember any such footage. Maybe they took one where people were celebrating the death of another american?

Do you mean this?

No video but an audio slide:

Here's a picture, note the 1000's of iraqi's littering the streets, corpses mainly, the few that were left alive and not shell shocked by US bombing were herded infront of Saddam's statue....good photo op.

The cheering of the few soon turned into jeering then GI spearing. Such are the consequences of invasion.

Good luck on your CNN search, maybe dig out some actual 'news' while you're at it.

Muzna Baji, here is a link that has the video. (CNN.com - U.S troops topple Saddam statue - Apr. 9, 2003)

Clink on the Video: ‘U.S. Marines pull down a statue of Saddam in Baghdad’s Firdos Square. (April 9)’

You need to have CNN’s subscription to play the video.

yarro, all munza asked for was a video clip and the link has been provided by some guppies.....now i am wondering why in the world we have 19 replys under this thread....janab izzat maaab guppies, we have many other threads waiting for our attention. so bhayoo, meeree guzarraish ha that lets move on. thanks

abay! let's move on my rear end! I'm not done yet.

sorry....this is not the footage I need.
I'm talking about the footage of the 15 or so Iraqis rejoicing in the street that was wrongly titled and broadcast by CNN. They later admitted that the footage was old file footage and was mistakenly broadcast.

it was a major blunder on CNN's part...so I don't think that it will be found on the CNN site.

Muzna- Why do I have the feeling that your presentation won't also include the video clip of palestinians singing and dancing in the streets on 9-11?
[/QUOTE]

ACTUALLY...I think that is exactly the footage that I require!
CNN broadcast it twice....once when it actually occurred and the second time when the US either went in to Iraq initially or when they got a firm hold on Baghdad. (I can't remember which.)

I think what happened was that CNN aired footage of Palestinians rejoicing in the streets when 911 happaned.

They later admitted that the footage was actually from the time Bush choked on a pretzel...or something like that.

If I remember right, they showed Palestinians dancing at about noon local time, the sun was high in the sky. Given the time zones it obviously was a recording of some other previous event and not subsequent to 11 - 9 ( 9- 11 if you prefer) carnage. Obviously most people were taken in by the CNN snafu. Not sure whether done on purpose or ..., but the damage was done.

 They showed people dancing, singing and handing out sweets in celebration on the streets of Gaza when September 11 happened. It was old footage though. Are you sure you aren’t talking about this?

The celebrations by Palestinians on September 11th 2001 in response to the terror attacks on the U.S. have been documented by several news outlets including Reuters and the Associated Press. The Celebrations did in fact occur and CNN did not use old footage as you are claiming.

The belief that it was old footage is pure myth and more evidence of muslim's conspiratorial nature (i.e. everything's a zionist plot). In other words, it really happened that's why you can't find it. Then again, I may just be one of the 3000 jews who didn't show up for my job in the WTC on 9-11.

4000 Jews, 4000.

I guess your presentation will take a different turn now Muzna?

UTD- 1,000 of them were technically there at the WTC that day, starting the rumor that "Osama did it".

There is no doubt that there is bias in all kind of media in almost every country of the world including USA but it is astonishing and unbelievable to see how even educated Muslims fall for conspirational stories so quickly.

  • Americans did not go on moon
  • jews did 9-11
  • there was a goat born with allah hoo akbar written on it
  • 4000 jews did not show up on 9-11 etc etc.

There is a story in North Korean school syllabus which describes how one Korean hero of Korean war (against US) when communication lines were cut off patched the wires with his veins after cutting them out of his body and made the communications system work.

Myth has a lot of power....every religion and nation had myths in the past created for mobilizing or making people think and fight in a certain way for the survival of the tribe or nation but believing of new myths now in the 21st century..it still works.:)

^Yup Iraq had WMD.
