Back a couple of years ago i used to watch CNN and was never really very bothered. But these days i feel totally different about this propoganda channel. I just wanted to know if anyone else kinda seems the same way about it ???
The presenters loook sooo unreal…
As soon as u listen to some of the stories you dont waste time saying what loadz of crap and propoganda…
Instead of being a news media its instead creating a War type hysteria by stupid lines such as " Showdown with Iraq" and so forth.
There view is sooo very biased and i just cant stop laughing at times at the shear arrogance and crap and this channel is pumping into the society.
Zein, CNN is not as bad as Fox News - "the voice America trusts". Though the modern success of CNN was built during the first Gulf War, and they have never let people forget it - in fact they have been obsessed with Iraq ever since. But CNN is still much more preferrable than some of it's bigoted rivals.
Agreed, although CNN is biased in some ways, it is still preferable to watch especially when compared to right wing broadcasters such as Fox news which spew nothing but sensationlised and unsubstantiated propoganda.
Yes, much better than Fox! Has anyone ever seen that one lady on Fox blink?? The feigned compassion is almost sickening! What is truly sad is that CNN is dumbing down to compete with Fox.. at least the American version. CNN International is decent... have to keep in mind that there is no such thing as unbiased journalism. With that in mind CNN is probably as good as it gets for global media.
Talking of News, whatever happened to MSNBC'S Phil Donahue? Heard his show got cancelled cuz he was talking too much against t/ admisnistration. So much for democracy and free press/ speech cry!
Zein, BBC over CNN any day. At least, on the former, there is a transparent attempt to remain 'balanced' to some extent. IMHO CNN has extremely minimal balance in its coverage - it basically regurgitates whatever it receives from the US State Dept.
Have you ever noticed the 'slogans' or 'titles' they pick for their different crises? There was a good report done on this by one of Canada's CBC media programmes, i'll try to find it on the web somewhere.
**[...] the system of "script approval" that has so marred CNN's coverage has got worse. In a further and even more sinister message dated 31 January this year, CNN staff are told that a new computerised system of script approval will allow "authorised script approvers to mark scripts (ie reports) in a clear and standard manner. Script EPs (executive producers) will click on the coloured APPROVED button to turn it from red (unapproved) to green (approved). When someone makes a change in the script after approval, the button will turn yellow." Someone? Who is this someone? CNN's reporters aren't told.
But when we recall that CNN revealed after the 1991 Gulf War that it had allowed Pentagon "trainees" into the CNN newsroom in Atlanta, I have my suspicions.]()
