PPP nominates Qaim Ali Shah as CM Sindh | DAWN.COM

KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party nominated Qaim Ali Shah as the Chief Minister of Sindh whereas Agha Siraj Durrani was nominated as Speaker of Sindh Assembly on Tuesday in a party meeting presided by President Asif Ali Zardari, DawnNews reported.

Earlier on Monday, Senior PPP leader Syed Kursheed Shah had told Dawn.com in an exclusive conversation had said that Qaim Ali Shah’s namewas put forward to continue his role as CM in the Sindh government.

Re: CM Sindh

One thing is for sure, this could be the last tenure of Qaim as CM as I think it would be almost impossible for him to run for the post in 2018 (aged 90). :p

Re: CM Sindh

He might actually run again, convincing people he sees 'hidden hands.... and they are everywhere'.

Re: CM Sindh

Even after being routed at the elections Zardari league has not learned any lessons. Wahi puranee harketein.

Re: CM Sindh

^^^
I don't think Zardari is in politics for a longtime career.. and I doubt he wants to bring his children in politics. His goals are:

1) A safe exit.
2) Indemnity against all the crimes.
3) Make maximum money from whatever is left with him as political-power opportunities in minimum time.

He is working as per his plans.. I guess.. And I doubt if he will ever come back to Pakistan after his tenure as President is finished.

Qaim Ali Shah is very suitable for his game plan. Tappi will be defacto CM.. he will try to maximize the profits for Zardari for next 5 years from Sind government finances selling government properties at throw away prices and trying to squeeze the maximum from rich Sind provincial spendings. Sind by far gets the maximum funding from the federal government which stands at 47 cents per capita compared to 15 cents per capita per day in Punjab due to their share from gas royalties. Past five years we didn't see this money being spent for development in Sind.. the same will happen for next 5 years.

Feel sorry for the people of Sind.. An MQM CM would have been much better for the development of Sind.. at least they would have worked hard by diverting resources to the actual well being of the citizens..

Re: CM Sindh

Wohi ghissi pitti kahani...Sad indeed.

Since provinces is much more independent after the implementation of a amendment, how much can federal government hold each province accountable? What does the constituion says about that?

Re: CM Sindh

The real defacto CM will be Tappi.. who is a low IQ thug working full time to explore opportunities for land grabbing. His only credential is the connection with Zardari.. Indeed a very sorry situation for the people of Sind..
