hey daddy's girl.. i just joined this forum since im gonna be getting married soon and after reading this thread seems like u and i have a lot in common. I'm also getting married in July in Lahore.. and have the same decisions to make as you.. its soooo confusing!!

Here's some info i got so far:
Royal Palm - everything looks great [decor, food, etc] but the only problem is that they are very strict on their time limit which is 8pm- 12:00 am, but we're still gonna talk and see if anything can be done about that i believe they charge 10,000 rs for every extra hour or so]
Sapphire - is extremely good, that's my next option if things with Royal palm don't work out
Mughl-e-azam - like someone mentioned looks amazing on the website, but it's actually quite congested, not a good option if you have a lot of guests
Liberty Castle - i heard is good for mehndi functions. But don't know much about it.
As for the makeup i think i will be either going for Madeeha's or Allenora not too sure yet.
For photography i heard Afzal Sudios is really good, a lot of my cousins got their photo shoot done from him and their pics turned out awesome!

Do you know if Royal Palm also provide DJs??? I know Sapphire can provide you with them.... I really don't want to be playing my music from a tape deck.. but then I don't want some crappy DJ either that won't listen to what I want.....
God, the time restrictions are a bit crap....... aren't pakis always a good 2 hours late anyway???? ( I know I always am... haha) weddings never start on time anyway, do they??? Prob gonna end up having the hall for a good 3 extra hours!!! lol.....

My wedding day one i'm thinking of orange (a bright rusty colour) with bright pink and maybe a bit of red in there too and for my valima, I want dark green and purple.... sounds dodgy but I really like the colour combo..... I want them to be dark but bright colours... if you know what I mean..... not dull shades....
for mehndi, i'm not too sure yet... but want a mixture of colours.... yellow, blue, red, green..... a nice little mix up!!! hahaha :)

liberty castle---they do have a website, just type it on google (LIberty castle lahore) it should come up, that was another place my mom checked out when she was there...he said its nice but over priced...this is back in april 08... they were charging 1000 per person ( for one dish )...god only knws what they are charging now.

^^ do u knw a person who is a member, i dont...and i am hoping they can charge me more but still let me have a party there.

rabia -- yes i do know someone who is a member at royal palm, he is my dad's close friend. but like i mentioned we talked to the banquet manager at royal palm n' they are really strict about their timings ! And like we all know Barats are almost never ON TIME! so a 4 hr restriction really didn't work for us!

Daddy's girl.. for makeup recently i've heard Madeeha's is on top, allenora is good as well but i haven't seen a recent bride by them so can't really say...
My cousin just got married in Nov n she got her makeup done from New look and she looked gorgeous, but then again another one of my cousin had her makeup done from new look in april and it was all cakey.. so im confused about them noow!
I don't know about DJ's in royal palm b/c we didnt get that far with them we stopped when they were being strict about the timings cuz like u said pakistani weddings always last loong there's no way we would've been done in 4 hrs.. esp when its a barat! But if u you want you can email them about the DJ they're ususally pretty quick in replying back.
And ur outfit colors seeem really niceee and bright :)

Will prob leave for Pak a good 6 - 8 wks before my wedding so have enough time to do all my shopping.... haven't yet got a definite wedding date yet.... in laws and parents are saying around July time.... but it's gonna be soooooo hot.... :( might get it pushed for sep time but then roze start and my in laws want it to be before Ramadan......
LOVE tea pink and silver.... that will look absolutely AMAZING!!! I wanted that colour on my wedding first but it does look soo much better with silver embroidery and then wouldn't be able to wear gold jewellery ..... i would prefer it but mum would kill me if I didn't wear all that damn gold.... lol
I checked out Liberty Castle.... it's actually really nice for a mehndi.... God, I don't know what I would do without you guys..... I would have NO IDEA about ANYTHING and would end up having my wedding in a tent in my back garden!! hehehehehe

^^...tents are really nice and pretty...they are making them really fancy now a days, not cheap either...i think for my mehndi ill rent a lawn n put up a tent :D
