Cloud 9 or GHD

Hair straighteners: Cloud Nine vs ghd

buying a hair iron for the very first time, oh I am so excited.

The reviews say that Cloud 9, has the the same owners as the GHD ones but give a better shine. I have long frizzy hair.

Can’t decide between

or this

Now thinking of Cloud 9 as it has temperature control and gives a better shine.

Re: Cloud 9 or GHD

Saadia, just go for the GHDs or one of the others mentioned in the thread that Paheli opened. You are going for something with a long history of many satisfied customers.

For now, I am skeptical about Cloud 9. There are very few reviews and most seem like viral advertising. Given they have been around for a few years now you would expect them to be popular or to have more reviews if they were really that good.

Re: Cloud 9 or GHD

Oh thank you stoppit, you are so wise mA but one last question, the older version of GHD IV Styler or the newer Gold V version of the wide plates ( I have decided for the wide plates, due to thick and long hair). Difference of 20 pounds, but the IV styler has more reviews, 185 to 17. what ya think ?

Re: Cloud 9 or GHD

In my experience, I think the different high-end brand pretty much do the same thing. You just need to find one that works for you. As mentioned on the other thread, I had Chi Turbo for several years before it blew out overseas.

While looking for a new one, I bought the Sedu Ionic which gets TONS of reviews (especially on Folica). However, the plates snagged on my hair and it steamed for whatever reason. I went back and got Sedu Revolution and it's working great so far.

But as far how my hair looked after using the irons...how it straightened, the shine etc......I didn't notice any difference between the Chi Turbo, Sedu Pro Ionic, and the Sedu Revolution. I imagine if/when I tried the Ghd or Babybliss, I'd get the same results as far as my hair is concerned. It just boils down to $$ and personal preference (the ONLY reason I didn't want to try the babybliss is b/c of the bright blue color).

Re: Cloud 9 or GHD

Go for the wide plates if your hair is thick. Cuts a lot of time when straightening
