Clear guidelines need to be set regarding this.
“Distasteful things about Islam”: What does this mean? Is criticism of any Muslim “distasteful” vis-a-vis Islam? My posts were deleted in that thread. What did I say? I cited straight from shariah provisions. (if I was incorrect regarding anyprovisions, please correct me) These are the laws of the land in several Muslim countries and there are many in Pakistan who wish to impose them in Pakistan (some of the provisions are already in force in Pakistan). Facts are not allowed? It is “anti-Islam” to say what self-identified “party of Islam” (Jamaat Islami"), “party of Allah” and such groups seek or what they have already imposed elsewhere? If so, fine but then apply the same reasoning to such individuals. Would a Jamaati posting that shariah should be imposed in Pakistan be allowed to do so under your rules?
“Sahaba ‘Ikrams’”: History is history. Is it wrong in the “all views” forum to discuss historical facts? It is “distasteful” to say that they launched an offensive jihad to expand their empire/Islam? That is odd: these are their own words. Until Muslims are willing to accept this and place them in their context (namely that it was common to do such things in the 600’s), you will continue to see Salafists launching offensive “jihads” for part of the reason they do it is because of their interpretation of what the Salafs did. If you can reeducate me regarding the true reasons for this based on historical evidence (i.e. explaining what the Byzantines ever did to the men of Mecca or what our Pakistani ancestors ever did to them), I will be glad to cleanse myself of false beliefs.
If your intent is simply to censor views you disagree with just admit so. If not, lay out the rules of the game.
You keep equating Salafists/Khomeninists/et al. (who ARE fascists–look up the definition of the fascism) with Islam. I find that distasteful. Xenophanez, I request that post be deleted on the grounds that it is distasteful and HURTS.
