Explanation: This image, showing what looks to be a human face and other features on the Cydonia region on the Martian surface, was first produced using data from NASA’s Viking 1 orbiter in 1976.
Described in a NASA press release as a “rock formation which resembles a human head”, some have since offered the extraordinary explanation that the face is an artificial construct built by a civilization on Mars! However, most scientists have a more conventional view - that this feature is indeed a natural Martian hill whose illusory face-like appearance depends on illumination and viewing angle. This month, the Mars Global Surveyor satellite will be in position to take new pictures of this region of controversial Martian features along with areas around the Mars Pathfinder and Viking landing sites.

Throughout the history there have been claims of people’s faces seen on moon and in the sky.
A recent example is claim of Maulana Riazuddin Gauharshai’s image seen on Moon, Sun and Mars. interesting. www.goharshahi.com
In the same context christians followers commonly see the image of Jesus and May on several objects.
I remember seeing the Kalima and a sword in the sky when I was a kid. Now I am not sure what is the xplanation? Was it my imagination? but I remember many other people seeing that.
Now I am more skeptical and
I believe now that it is in the eye of the believer.

Thanks much, I have seen other pics before but the inscription of word Ali on the moon was new to me. As Prophet said he is sun and Ali is moon, why is that no inscription of word Muhammad is seen on Sun as yet?

I think u were not here… when there were some heated debates on whether name of Ali is written on moon or not… other religions like christians. jews, hindus etc can bring milllions of signs.. would u believe them… one always see things what one want to see.. these sign things dont matter.. what important is ones faith…
