Clock Advertisements

In more than 90 % of advertisements related to wrist-watches and wall clocks, the time displayed is always 10:10 (ten past ten). You can see for yourself. I wonder why this is so.
Can it be explained by someone ?
Look at the following weblinks of words most popular brands and observe for yourself

Re: Clock Advertisements

interesting observation. I have seen watches where its been 9:10, 8:10,4:10 etc etc. Its always been 10 past the hour for some reason

Re: Clock Advertisements

And I have an explanation for this:
This is because the Brand name and other information will get hidden by any other time.

Re: Clock Advertisements

  • does not obstruct ( as mentioned by mirch above)
  • Highlights the logo and brand ( frames it)
  • resembles a smile

Re: Clock Advertisements

My cousins and I always used to laugh at the smilie face the 2 hands form.
