I’ve been using Titanium Backup for a while, but it requires root for most functions.
I found this one that actually backs up data and files with no root required. Everyone should have their phones backed up just in case of loss. Here is their description:
“Clickfree is fully featured and automatically backs up all your valuable content to Local, SD card or Multiple Cloud Storage Accounts, including Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and SugarSync.
Photos, music, videos, documents, applications, contacts and more are conveniently summarized in the built-in category viewer. Easily transfer your backed up multimedia content to an existing or new device. With Clickfree, peace of mind has never been so easy. Root is not required!”
And Niksik is very happy too. She just installed it and it gives you the option to backup to your DropBox, or Google Drive or SkyDrive or Sugar Sync... it's that easy.
And oh, how cool is it that I can be sitting on my comfy recliner with my laptop on my lap, and click install from Google Play Store on my laptop, and it gets installed on my S3. Technology, I love thee. very emotional smilie

So I backed up to my DropBox. It was such a simple process, took a while though. However, it did not slow down any of the other apps during the backup. Do use wifi so it's a smoother process.
