cleraing system offered by ucas ( for uk guppies/guppans only)

has anybody in the uk been to uni’ through the clearing service, if so plz tell me how it works

Never went through clerance, bu thte way it works is that the day A-level results come out, a couple of the major national newspapers will have special sections in them containing listings of university courses that still have spaces.

You then need to contact directly the universities who have available spaces on courses to try and gain admission.

Word of advice: Courses go on roughly a first-come, first-serve basis. So if you are expecting to go through clearing (or even if you are not), have a newspaper with the clearings list in you hand, and call them up ASAP!!!!

All of the good courses WILL be filled within 24 hours.

which paper would u recomend?

UCAS supplies official vacancy information to The Independent, The Independent on Sunday and The Mirror only.

Vacancy listings in other newspapers are unofficial and may not be complete.

Alternatively, the UCAS website, http://www.ucas.com , will have interactive Clearing course search from A levels results day.
