CLEP Courses!

Has anyone of you ever CLEP their courses?

Those of you who aren’t familiar with it. Let me give you a brief discription of it.Basically you get your dean’s permission registor for classes pay around 100 bucks i heard. Study at home and at the end of the semester go and give the exam. Its like an independent study sort of a thing. Its the perfect thing for gradauting students who have loads of coursesi heard. If you fail there is nothing that goes on your record but if you pass you get 3 credits or whatever your university has a set amount of credits. If you pass you only get the letter “P” on your transcript and it doesnt count towards your gpa.

I am planning on taking 18 credits next semester and i really don’t feel like sitting through Theology course so thought to get your opinion on it. Keep in mind i am working fulltime.

so if it doesn't count towards ur GPA, does it still count towards ur degree??

I never took a CLEP course, but I did take the CLEP exam for english and math, which I registered for at the local college. I passed both (Mash'Allah) and so in college I did not have to take two english classes (out of the three required), and I didnt have to take two math classes(out of two) required. This saved me time and money in the long run. I think everyone should take the CLEP if you are fairly decent in both subjects. All you will lose is the money and time spent on the exam if you dont pass it. I dont know if a course is required to study for it, I think you can study for it on your own, but then I dont know how your college works, so it may just be useful.

I clepped all my french classes in college to get my minor. Just had to take 2 classes in the end. CLEP is way too cool. :)
