Clearblue fertility monitor

people who have used it-did it ask you to a test everyday for the first 5 days?

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

i havent used it, but this is what the website says:

The Clearblue® Easy Fertility Monitor consists of Test Sticks and a hand-held Monitor. All you need to do are simple urine tests each cycle when the Monitor asks you to.

The disposable Test Sticks collect hormones from your first urine of the day. The Monitor reads the Test Stick, interprets your hormone changes, and tells you clearly if your fertile status will be low, high or peak, for the next 24 hours.

Getting Started
You can start using your Monitor on the first day of your next cycle (but not before). On this day, you set the ‘m’ Button, which tells the Monitor that your period has started and a new cycle has begun. It also establishes the 6 hour Testing Window in which you can do a test, so it’s a good idea to do this at a time when you normally get up in the morning.

Then all you need to do is turn on your Clearblue® Easy Fertility Monitor every day at any time in the 6 hour Testing Window. You’ll see the ‘m’ Symbol displayed for the first 5 days of each cycle. The number on the display screen changes each day to show you which day of your cycle you are on. On days when the Monitor needs further information about your hormone changes, it will request a test.

Performing a Test
When your Monitor asks you to perform a test, you remove a Test Stick from its protective wrapper and use it immediately. You take a sample of your urine by holding the Sampling End of the Test Stick pointing downwards in your urine stream for 3 seconds only. Alternatively, you can collect a sample in a clean, dry container and hold the Sampling End in the urine for 15 seconds. It’s important to use the first urine after you wake up, as this contains the highest concentration of hormones.

Next, keeping the Test Stick pointing downwards, you take the cap off the handle and place it over the ‘wet’ end of the Test Stick. You are now ready to insert the Test Stick in the Test Stick Slot of the Monitor as shown in the in-pack Instruction Booklet.

When you have inserted the Test Stick correctly, the Test Stick Symbol will flash for approximately 5 minutes while the Monitor reads and interprets the information from your Test Stick. After approximately 5 minutes, the Monitor will ask you to remove the Test Stick, which you can throw away. The Monitor will now display your fertile status.

Your Fertile Status
The Clearblue® Easy Fertility Monitor shows your fertile status using a series of bars on the display: one bar for Low Fertility, two bars for High Fertility and three bars for Peak Fertility.

Approaching the end of your cycle
The Clearblue® Easy Fertility Monitor lets you know when you are approaching the end of your cycle – the ‘m’ Symbol begins to flash you can prepare for your next cycle, or, if you think your period is late, to test for pregnancy.

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

Thanks for the info...but I have read this all..

the reason I ask is because they say that u should only do a test when the monitor asks...my monitor has been asking me everyday since i switched it on lol...i started the monitor from the 5thday...and todays the 11th day on the monitor now and everyday its been asking me to do a test and so far its been low fertility :(

I thought it would ask on certain days..not everyday :s maybe its getting 'used' to my cycle as its my first time?!

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

i want to try it, but its expensive and there are only a limited amount of sticks.

My gyne said to do the BBT first for a couple of months, and then try the ovulation kits.

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

I know you are right..it is expensive...but if you think about it..it is a investment for future...and if it gives u a baby then hey its worth it inshallah...

i was unsure whether i shud buy it,...but then took the chance...hopefully it will help me understand my mad cycle...will def let u knw if its worth it inshallah in a few months :)

Good luck to you too xx

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

have you tried monitoring ur BBT? It's a really good method. That way you know when you're ovulating and have the best chances to conceive. My doc told me that the best chance to conceive is right BEFORE your temperature spikes up, and not when it does spike. I tried it for the past 2 months, and alhumdulillah the cycles are normal and the temperature spikes are predictable. The only hassle is the BBT has to be taken at the same time everyday before you get out of bed, and I like to sleep in on the weekends..lol.

In the end, everything comes from Allah SWT, and He will decide the best time for us to become parents. In the meantime, enjoy the time with the hubby =) Go out at any time you want, come home at anytime you want, no need to worry about the babies/kids and who's goign to watch them. Enjoy watching your own tv shows and movies and not have Treehouse TV 24/7 (urgh) and enjoy other people's children - that's the best part! You can do all the fun stuff with them and when its time for the crying/feeding/changing diaper, hand them back to mummy! lol.

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

^ good perspective!! i was just waiting for someone to say those very words to me and knock some sense back into my head. its so easy to get carried away with emotions!

i tried bbt'ing but it irritated me to no end and i kept switching off the alarm and sleeping in! d'oh.

so yeah, i'm on to opk's now from next cycle iA.

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

I'm going to buy this product hopefully tomorrow. Anyone else using it? I'd like perspectives from other people that have used this product. Is it easy to use? I'm really illiterate with technology so I hope I will be able to figure it out!

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

My gynae asked me to test everyday between my periods. Its a good way to find out exactly when your TTC because some people will ovulate right after, some in between and some right before their menstrual cycle..

Re: Clearblue fertility monitor

I use it, after the first few months, you get used to when your ovulation starts, so i dont waste too many sticks, i just use the sticks around the days e.g if ovulation is day 14, i start it on day 12, that way you only end up using about 5 sticks per cycle. ( i have to save on this as i cannot get the sticks where i live)
