Re: cleaning nonstick pans
Remember, Hakim Agha says never to scratch non-stick material (such as Teflon) with abrasive stuff like steel-wool.
One square inch of non-stick material scratched off is enough to cause cancer to 10 people.

What? really? that is shocking actually ..
Re: cleaning nonstick pans
i read somewhere if you leave chopped onions in water in the pan for a while, this removes burnt stuff (not sure as i have not tried this)
Re: cleaning nonstick pans
I used this successfully today on all my regular and nonstick pans ! HIGHLY recommended

I wonder if they sell it here. I will check eBay. Oven cleaner works great on the outside of pots and pans.

Non stick pans have other issues that people may not be aware of, in general they are poor for high heat cooking and a large number are not meant to go in the dishwasher.
Please read up and make sure. The more I know about it the less I like them, and just recently discarded my old cooking set and returned one we had just bought.
So what are you using now X2. I am ready to throw out my pans but don’t know what to replace them with.

I feel the same. The more I’m getting to know about them,I feel like throwing mine away! But which pans to replace with?

Stainless steel, cast iron as two options
Ceramic coated or enameled is another option.
I just bought two ceramic coated pans and for a great deal as well 25 dollars for both.
For those of you in Canada I bought them from Stokes. Will have to make sure that we use only silicon spoons while using the pans.
Just a little something to take care of our health.
