I got an LCD lappy screen (no fancy glass plate covering it), and i need to clean off the fingerprints and such off it. right now i’m just dry wiping it. I googled some stuff, and it came up with an alcohol/water mixture to use. Then i saw another thing that said over time the alcohol solution’s just going to end up yellowing the screen.
i reccoment that you take off the laptop screen and plug in a monitor .......... like my friend here has done .......... and this way your screen will never be in use and nor will get it dirty ..
one thing .. you ll have to open another thread on .. how to clean my monitor?
once you ve done this then tell me .. i ll tell you what to do next.
Kumar Bhai, use a microfiber cloth (like the one used to clean eyeglasses) to wipe away the grease strains. That what I use. Just damp it a litle if you have to, but you can also get LCD cleaner solutions if you want from your local comp store. OR you can make your own cleaning solution
Basically you want to avoid anything that contains ammonia e.g windex and other such glass cleaners have ammonia. Dont use them.
PS: if you cant be bothered to make your own solution or get the LCD cleaner and dont have the microfiber cloth then just use a clean cotton t-shirt, damp it a little, just enuff, and wipe off the screen. In most cases it will remove the fingerprints unless you have been surfing gupshup while eating biryaani with your fingers.
