Our iron seams to be clogged at the bottom with lime/calcium and spray starch reminants. It causes stains on light colored fabrics, any suggestions on how to clean the iron?

buy a new one! Coz if you are going to try to clean it is only going to get worst and will cause further damage to your clothes.

it depends on your iron
you can get liquid descalers for irons and a little block type thing that you rub over the surface of the iron and it rubs away teh rubbish without damaging the surface
in the uk you can buy it in cloth stores or general homeware stores
try the internet

My iron is good it is good kenwood simple iron I got it as a prize/gift by the cybernet for using more cybernet hours on the net,it has a little belaak stain I think I will wash it with dhobisoda or sodawater it will be clean.

Ill try to look for the liquid descaler first cause its the steam holes at the base of the iron that are clogged.
