How do you clean your smaller appliances that are plugged in and cannot be detached to wash with the regular dishes?
I have a few small appliances (coffee grinder, hand mixer etc) but since it has the power cord i’m afraid to put water near it, yet wipes just won’t clean it properly. Any solutions?
Re: Cleaning appliances
Theres 2 ways you can get them sparkling again. First is to use a "Scotch Brite"pad, wet it, shake out extra water then spray on some bleach or windex. These pads are sold in 2 or 3 packs, they're dark green and you can find them near the brillo pads in the grocery store. They have an abrasive surface but dont scratch most surfaces (unless you scrub too vigorously). They work really nicely.
Or...you can use a soft damp cloth and squirt on some Clorox cleanup with bleach. This is a wonderful product! Its a thick white cream that has scrubbing granules in it. Wash the appliance with the cloth then keep rinsing till its shiny as new.
Best thing is to clean it right away after every use. That way the dirt doesn't build up. I just use a wet paper towel after every use. It works for me. The paper towel has to be warm though.
Was not using my kitchen for the past 8 months. Now every thing is a big mess. As Mama said the Scotch Brite pads. I'll just use regular dish washing liquid. Sprinkle some "Comet", shake excess water. Wipe it with that first. Then a wet paper towel. Comet does wonders.
