I read in a book by Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi about a Khan Sahab who thought that spitting out melons seed or chicken bones is against his mardaangi .. and used to finish the whole chicken along with bones (and melons with seeds) ,.
I have an uncle who picks everything from his plate and finshes it, along with peices of garlic, ginger, black cardamom, clove and what not ..
Spiral, I am not promoting to eat bones, I was just mentioning that :D
I know of a family, both wife and daughter used to dump their left overs in husbands/dad's plate and expected him to finish that .. that guy right in front of my eyes not only gained weight to an unhealthy level but put himself in a dangerous situation by having a very high cholesterol and then a stroke .....so watch out when you decide to use your hubby as a dumpster :D
lol sureeeeeee!
I don't eat the gooey part of the meat.. he thinks its all the good meat i am leaving.. so i'll let him eat that.
but back to the topic... My SIL cleans her plate super good.. she doesn't eat the bones though but you won't find a single grain of rice in her plate left.
I eat everything on my plate, bar those things that taste eyuuuuuchhhh when you bit into them. I just leave them on the side of the plate, e.g cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, black cardamom, chunks of ginger (i always grate ginger) etc etc.
I eat my pizza crust.
I don’t like mangoes.
I have a separate bowl for disposing of shells when i’m eating nuts with a shell on them.
I eat the raisins in my kheer, though i prefer not to have them there in the first place.
Any more?
Oh, yeah, when i eat curry and there are bones, i don’t eat them, i leave them on the side… but i munch through the cartilage.
my husband hates any whole spices (cloves, black round thinggy etc etc) so i dont add them to the food. but other than that, i really hate biting into a big masalaydaar boti from a biryani…and it turns out to be the plum pit
I don’t like them taste of mangoes. Bas, meri marzi.
I chipped one of my back teeth on one of those blasted plum pits in biryani. Haven’t liked biryani since.
Oh and Sara, i don’t like whole spices either so i just grind them up and use them in stuff like pilao. Otherwise if i’m at someone else’s house and they’re whole, i pick them out with my fork and leave them on the side.
