Classical music

So, anyone here listens to classical music regularly?

If you do: Who are your favorite composers and conducters? Any nice pieces you want to share.

If you don’t: have you ever tried?

I’m a great fan of Beethoven’s. Just love his 5th and 9th symphony. Especially the versions conducted by Von Karajan and Carlos Kleiber.

Also the canon in D major of Pachelbel’s by the Slovak Chamber Orchestra is great :k:

Re: Classical music

not a regular listener, but appreciate it nonetheless.

at this moment i’m hooked to Barber’s Adagio for Strings, and have heard about 3 versions of it, each beautiful.

Chopin is brilliant with his piano compositions. There’s another piece, i can’t remember the name of it right now, but it’s very eastern in style, and the story of that piece is that a prince has been captured and he’s now being entertained by his host (him being a prince and all). Such a beautiful piece :jano:

Love love- Pachelbel's Cannon in D

Re: Classical music

u need to relax to enjoy classical music and nowadays i've no time for relaxation :-\

but when i was in college i liked the baroque style best, and enjoyed listening to bach, handel, antonin dvorak... and that pachelbel canon in d major was my favourite... it's still my phone ringtone! i also really loved vivaldi's four seasons and johann strauss' waltzes

i listen to beethoven sometimes lekin it's too structured for my liking. i remember the first time i listened to beethoven a decade ago, i was on the subway listening to it on my CD player, and couldn't hear the music properly so i raised the volume all the way up. what do u know, all of a sudden it got so intense and so loud that i nearly fell out of my seat in fright!

can’t say I listen regularly, but whatever little I did hear of Chopin, was beautiful.
