I read at many places that rich people used to send their kids to learn etiquette and mannerism from the tawaa’if of Lucknow and Delhi.

Yes I also read something like that. There was a misconception that all tawaifs were involved in prostitution, but there was category which was only related to dancing.

But still sending a small child in a place where drinks were served and everyone was drunk?
