Rainbow? I don't remember them..What do they sing?

LedZeplin.. hard rockers... I remember buying one of their records..lol but I forget which one..

Allman Brothers I forgot about them ...:). I have to add them to my list of southern rockers like Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker and Lynard Skynard. (saw all these guys in concert)

Eric Clapton.. he's cool too.

Black Sabbath, the band that single handedly created the genre of Heavy Metal. The bat head incident was a rumor. A fan had thrown a fake bat on stage in the early 80's, and Ozzy decapitated it, and the press went nuts. However, he did bite the head off a dove at a press conference in the early 80's after the release of the awesome "Blizzard of Ozz" album. He was rushed to the hospital soon after.

I love Alice, definately one of my favorites. Awesome live theatrical show as well. Definately an original, and the godfather of Shock and theatrical rock. Speaking of more animal slaughter, at a show in Toronto in the early 70's, someone threw a live chicken on stage, which Alice then threw back into the crowd, thinking that it's a bird, and it'll fly away. But guess what, it landed in the crowd, in which the poor bird was torn to shreds.

Of the best live rock albums in the history of live albums. Iron Maiden's "Live after Death" (1985) definately holds the title for the best live album in metal history (my own opinion that is)

Rainbow was a 70's band formed by Richie Blackmore (Deep Purple) and Ronnie James Dio, who later fronted Black Sabbath for 2 albums, and a live album, after Ozzy was booted out that is. Great classic rock, with wonderful mystical lyrics by the man with the golden throat, Ronnie James Dio. Rainbow is still around, but only Richie Blackmore remains from the Original members.

There was one Rainbow album whch was called "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow", and it contained the mega successful hit, "The Man On The Siver Mountain". It came out in 1975 or so.

Yes...and YES:)

It was Rick Wakeman.

oh..now I remember that song..

The man on the silver mountain..

Aww, come on 714, Alice is softer than most of the bands that were mentioned :D

see now, my classic rock tastes lie more in the direction of late 60's to mid 70's rock mostly. Stuff, again, along the lines of the Who, Creedence, the guess who, clapton, things like that :)
