hmm..listened to ‘once upon a time in the west’ after such a looooong time by fluke on radio…and it almost felt as though I listened to it for the first time..brought back so many anamnesis moments - lead of knophler, the lyrics and the whole song just rocked and kept going through my head for the rest of the day..
There’s just something mystical about the music made in sixties onward till mid eighties which today’s music just does not have..how come there are no hendrixs, led Zeps, Journeys, Joe Walshs in this day and era..i just don’t know..good rock bands are few and seldom to come by..either it’s more punk..or just plain distasteful. Hardly, any lead jams which can totally blow your mind..now I am even more craving FOR some good rock tunes..do you classic rock lovers feel the same way..

Just like the music, there are not very many classic rock admirers left.
However i'm sure people who are cool enough such as Rooster Blues and Fraudia are highly knowledgable of this music. Perhaps they miss it very much.
I woudln't agree with the notion that there aren't many classic rock admirers left..heck, it was classic while I was growing up ..yet, it's something many of us grew up listening to. However, I don't expect a lot of teenagers nowadays to listen to classic rock, blues or similar types of music. Taste definitely changes with a generation gap, and perhaps ten years from now classic will be more like oldies, but the legends of that era will always be legends.
btw: what about you..any favorite classic rock bands..or songs.

… AK did you check out new stuff from Mark Knophler ‘salining to phlidelphia’? .. great album … LZ are the fathers of rock music .. there is still no one better thant them .. the whole boy bands poping britnys (all punt intended) have killed the orgianlity and creativity .. but there are talented people around .. I was at the blues festival this last weekend (chicago) .. and man there were amazing talent out there … very impressive .. its all about marketing .. if people want poping britneys (i love saying that

and UnSyncs than thats what they get
Hey one more thing
These things are hard to explain
For some it seems strange… to swallow
The frontier of our minds
Is the last place we find
But maybe the first place we should go
Yeah man, I listened to it and quite liked it..my all time Dire Straits' favorite still remains 'Alchemy Live' : the lead jams which just seem to go on forever- he's definitely one of the most talented I have listened to. Another one of my fav. from the same era is Bob Marley.. even though, his music may not fall under blues and rock, but I think he's still up there ..it's sorta hybrid of reggae and blues.. these boy bands and busting poping britneys have definitely spoiled lotsa music scence in terms of creativity and talent. Same applies to lotsa new rock bands..there are hardly any...I am not sure if you heard of Johnny Lang, he's a great blues singer and a lead guitarist- considering the fact that he's in his early twenties...I really enjoy listening to him..
