This is one of indian classic tv serials.
It is based on book"Malgudi Days" by R.K.Narayan.
It was filmed during 80’s in a small town named "agumbe"of karnataka.
the story takes place during british raj and after gaining independence.
The title music is quite famous in india.

Yes its famous and was re telecasted from Sony TV in 90s.
In Pakistan, we have also many serials dealing of rural life. From serious serials like Jungle, Deewarain, Waris, Raahen to light serials like Choti si Dunya, Sasural, Jhoot ki aadat nahin mujhe, PTV produced tons of serials on rural life.

u can see minute details captured in this series...
as i had mentioned in one of my post i had seen waris re telecast on ptv....
it is a amazing serial...if u watch sony tv today u can see indian version of dhoop kinare.....

I'm very much disappointed with the Indian version of Dhoop Kinare 'Kuch to log kahenge'. I can't stand with these dragging soaps at all.

^ same here bhai,indian soap producer r greedy they want to make more money from single project that is why they prolong dramas unnecessarily....

I read the whole book for my o'levels back in 1997. Loved the simplicity in every story :)
