What do you all think about the Clarisonic? I have heard so many things about this little machine! It looks really effective to me, but is it worth the high price??

Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
I have had the Clarisonic for several months now and I like it. I bought the one with two speeds and I feel that it provides a thorough clean. It helps products such as moisturizers to absorb better into your skin. I had some stubborn blemishes, which have faded considerably. My mom uses the Clarisonic every night and I see a difference in her skin...it appears smoother, MA.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
I'm really considering buying one, but isn't too much exfoliation bad for you skin? that's the only thing I'm worried about :s
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
Everyone's skin is different and responds differently to products. I personally don't find the exfoliation to be harsh and I tend to have an oily t-zone. I use the "normal" brush...but if you're worried about over-exfoliating, you can use the "sensitive" or "delicate" brush instead. My mom uses the sensitive brush. I believe the brush rotates for 1 minute.....you can choose to use it for less than a minute. That's another way that you can control the exfoliation. You also have control over frequency. For example....instead of using it daily....you can skip a day...or use it a couple times a week. And as your skin adjusts...you can try using it more often. You can even set it at a lower speed if your worried about too much exfoliation.
Some people break out in the beginning....it's a common reaction but goes away with time. My mom had red bumps when she first started using the Clarisonic, but it passed. With some products....you will break out because your skin is adjusting and also because the product is bringing all that clogged dirt to the surface.
Yes, it is expensive. If you want the Clarisonic brand....you can opt for the Clarisonic Mia.....which is smaller and comes in a travel size and I believe it only has one speed, but I'm not 100% sure. The Mia is cheaper....about $150....the other Clarisonic models run close to 200 bucks. The most expensive is the one with 3 speeds and that you can use on your body.....but if you're only planning to use it on your face...then I don't see the point of purchasing that one. Apart from Sephora, you can also buy it at stores like Ulta. If you have the Ulta rewards card...you can earn points...that can help to educe the cost of your Clarisonic.
There are also other brushes similar to the Clarisonic that are cheaper....such as the DDF....it's made by a dermatologist and it's $90.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
Also, if you buy the Clarionic...it will come with sample cleansers. Some people don't respond well to those. My esthetician, who recommended the Clarisonic to me, advised against using the Clarisonci cleanswers. She said it's better to use a cleanser that you find works well for you.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
thanks for your advice! I think I'm gonna invest in the Clarisonic, and just start off using it a couple times a week because i have sensitive. then hopefully I can move up to once a day :)
thanks again!
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
how often do the brushes need to be replaced?
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
I have bought the Dermalogica exfoliating face brush, which i use a few times a week to deep cleanse when my face when i feel i need it, i think it does the same job, for the price i wouldn't get the Clarisonic, the Dermalogica brush is very soft, so it's gentle to the skin and really helps removing make up

Yes, how often do the brush heads need to be replaced?
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
I use mine twice a day and it does show a big difference. It does not exfoliate though, it just cleans much deeper into the pores and your moisturizer etc. absorb better as a result. It is def. pricy though. I use mine with this cleanser: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P226706&categoryId=B70
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
Can I give a cheap cheap suggestion? Use an electric toothbrush :@: I've been using an Oral B's one with a soft brush and it works great. Obviously doesn't feel as awesome as a $150+ Clarisonic brush with much softer bristles and much bigger brush head but hey it does the job, the purpose is to clean thoroughly, right?
A friend of mine uses a baby hairbrush lol that works great too. If you can afford the Clarisonic one, go for it, I've heard many good reviews about it.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)

Brush heads need to be replaced every 3-4 months. You can purchase the brush heads by themselves at Sephora or Ulta...or online. I think a single brush head is about $25....if you buy a pack containing two...then it's about $40.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
thanks!
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
Just bought a Clarisonic Mia 2 from Nordstrom! Loving it!!! Got the pink limited edition one. I just found out about it last week and after reading tons of review online, i decided to get it. Used it for a day and let's see how it goes for me. Have a few blemishes I would like to get rid of and also for deep cleansing.
Re: Clarisonic (Skin Care Brush)
you guys need to realize that the clarisonic brush does NOT exfoliate! it only deep cleans like a normal face wash but deeper than using your hands thats it....you guys still need to exfoliate regularly because the clarisonic brush doesn't exfoliate. Think of it as a power toothbrush how it deep cleans rather than manual brushing your teeth
