Clapping and Whistling

Assalam O Alaikum

Surah Al Anfal - 35
Their Salât (prayer) at the House (of Allâh, i.e. the Ka’bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.

Clapping and Whistling is thus a resemblence with kuffar. Thus most of the ulema have prohibited it. Instead when ever a Muslim likes or dislikes something he should say Subhan’Allah or Allah O Akbar, which is best.

Secondly, clapping is masrooh for women, like in praying, if the imam does some mistake, women will remind him by clapping and men by saying subhan’Allah.

So its better for Muslims not clap as we do in parties or functions.

I wonder what is your guidence about playing computer games. Is it haram or not? If it is OK then using joystick is an Islamic way or using keyboard?

Anything which stops from prayer or zikr of Allah SWT, and is a waste of time is not allowed or at least is makru.

As far as making fun of Islam is concerned, it is for sure not allowed.

I am not making fun of Islam. I was making fun of your post. I think reducing religion to such trivial discussion is rather funny.

What i wrote was according to Islam, now its up to you to make fun of it or act according to it. Instead of making fun of Islam we should try to act according to Islam as much as we can. And if we cannot, it does not give us the right to reject it or make fun of it.

So clapping is haram.

Maybe that is why rulers of Kabul have named theselves as 'taali''ban'.

PG! Get a life man. This brother here is trying to teach you islam rather then appreciating it, ur making fun of him and Islam. That's not right.

I do However disagree with u abdulla on one point. In Islam, if you put 5 minutes everyday for Allah, then you can put 5 minutes for having entertainment which is Halal. So if u dont pray and only thing that links you to islam is your name, then for you to play games and waste time is not allowed in Islam.

HomiD : Please tell me that it is your opinion that entertainment is Halal in Islam. If it says anywhere in the Quran that entertainment is Halal in Islam, then give me references. If you cant give me references then I think a lesson for us is not to use the Halal term without thinking.

I DONT THINK THAT "PG" IS MAKING FUN OF ISLAM. HE IS MERELY POINTING OUT THAT WHATS ALLOWED AND NOT ALLOWED IN ISLAM IS CLEARLY STATED IN THE QURAN.

Please do not make religion hard to comprehend and do not think that you have achieved such greatness in your knowledge in Islam that you start to tell people your version of Islam - GET REAL
