but I don't see anything wrong with CJ's order to categorise programmes into ratings. It makes perfect sense and neither it curbs the 'freedom' of media.

I hardly ever actually never watch Pakistani channels other than the news channels and i think they do not need to be repriminded. Specially the crime reporting is incessant and without warnings. Certainly not something one can watch with kids around.

I agree that Pakistani media needs to be reigned in. However, there are other means and other institutions in the country. SC should not poke its nose in every single matter.

For the first part of your question, they rarely do put any other songs in the background.
They are almost always Bollywood songs, which I am pretty sure they don’t even have the rights for. Only occasionally do they steal some Hollywood music (emphasis on the word music). I can understand doing this once in a while, where appropriate, but these days, almost every other news story on most Pakistan TV channels (whether it’s happy, sad, alarming or alluring) has songs running in the background. That’s not how you present the news, people.
And ochay is an Urdu word that transits between awkward, cheap, idiotic, ugly, dirty to vulgar, depending on the context.

Why CJ is watching obscene programs? If some one doesn't like it don't see it. I hope CJ is not that stupid that he does not know the Internet and what can be watched there? It is really a stupid and waste of time by CJ ignoring other important cases for which he is being paid handsome salary with perks from tax payer money.
I hope government should not take any action on his stupid decisions which absolutely do not affect the people.
with due respect we use intrenet with our own will and wen you watch tv channels we are bound to see wht they wanna show to the public,if we change ary with maya khan on it then we are bound to see veena malik on hero tv if we change that then we are bound to see some other stupidty...

It means different things to different people and there are various levels of it.
the level wich Isam defines as obsenity...
