any one around read or heard about it? took it? prepared for it?
Re: cissp
huh?
Re: cissp
Here!
Wrote the exam back in 2003 but couldn't keep updates with the continuing credits.
The exam itself aint that difficult as long as you have some security infrastructure management experience... there's more emphasis on governance and administration though.
I'm planning to write the CISM next year - its more popular these days, at least in the IT Consulting sector in Canada.
I think Kaleem to is a CISSP.
Re: cissp
oh glad to knwo someone knows it.
I am not too sure cism rates better than cissp. heck even cisa is better than cism (from whatever market i know)
And yeah I am currently preparing for it and first four domains were pretty smooth. So I was wondering if all ten domains are like that. will take it sometime in march.
Re: cissp
I think CISSP is not all that hard to get, what annoys me is the stupid requirments that go with getting and maintaing a certificate. It’s just a money making scheme IMO. Some info on wiki Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Wikipedia
Re: cissp
love it or hate it, its the premium security cert these days.
The problem is that sooo many ppl are doing it that it could easy be categorized in the MCSE category. The best indepth certs are from SANS
Re: cissp
CISSP is the premier cert only because of the experience it requires. The exam itslef is not that hard....it is long but not difficult. Just make sure that if you were to get a job based on CISSP you know the domains well and have some experience in the area.
Umar, I am looking into CISM and CISA. What sources/books etc are you using to prepare for CISM.
I agree with Mr. Genius...SANS is the best for indepth security training.
Re: cissp
I have no issues with experience thing cause i will meet requirements in june and as I plan to take the exam in feb so four months without certificate shouldnt be that big deal for me.
Kaleem, as you have cleared cissp you dont have much left for cisa i.e auditing info plus standards compliance info. Cism, although has some different concepts involved.
I also rate SANS very highly. They are going to be a brand name just like cissp is nowadays. Just browsing through their website tells you how much this field has grown and how diverse each infosec area can be in itself. I certainly plan to achieve at least one or two SANS certifications by the end of next year (God willing)
Kaleem, I have some metarial (maybe outdated considering its early 2005's) for cism and I will be glad to share it with you.
