Guys wanted to know the religious view point of circumcision.. The topic is very debated in the west.. Almost all muslims are circumcised- don’t know about Shias as I never discussed anything like that with anyone in person. How about the west? Seems in the US, half of all infants are circumcized although the Bilble doesn’t make a case for it.. How about Indian muslims? Do they get circumcised or not prefer to get like their Hindu countrymen?

Peace moin.ul.atiq
In Genesis you will find the account of the covenant of God with Abraham. This was such a profound event in which Muslims also believe. The sign of the covenant is the circumcision. So the Bible is not void of the mandate at all.
The practice became a tradition and even when monotheism drifted away from the valley of Paran, upon the lost legacy of Ismail (AS), this practice was still manifest. As a result Muhammad (SAW) was circumcised in childhood amidst a pagan society who only knew that their forefathers practiced this, and this was the link between them and their rival bretheren - the Jews.
The New Testament narrates that Jesus (AS) was circumcised.
Muslims regard this a tradition and Islamic practice, but do not associate it with the zeal as in the Old Testament. I personally think it is important because it links back to Ibraheem (AS) and all the prophets (AS) of Islam, thereafter.

Salamvalekum
Alhamdullilaah brother we do get circumcised.
Just other point to brothe pysah's post is the Makkans during the time of Prophet sala Allaah alayhi wa sallam believed that they followed the religion of Abraham alayhi salam, i.e. the religion of Hanif (mentioned in Quran too) and they practised circumcision and correct me if i am wrong they had to be circumcised 7 days after the child was born and accordingly they believed this was also followed by Abraham alayhi salam.
