What is feasible for karachi? Is the feasibility of KCR ready?

I think Circular Railway is the better option.

Don’t know whats the status of feasibility, as we are listening this again and again since ages :yawn:

we need both, Circular railway was covering less than half of the most populous areas years ago, today its even lesser. We need Circular railway + more than metro bus routs to connect other areas to it.

just to explain a bit further, from the perspective of someone who spent most of his life in Karachi.
circular railway for example reaches upto Malir (an extension used to go upto Landhi/ Quaidabad station) but no connection till Gulshan-e-hadeed, Cattle colony, Pipri etc
similarly, most of the Landhi industrial area and Korangi is not covered. Areas as far as Gulshan-e-Maimar are not covered, Orangi town, north-western parts of malir, and many more areas with abundance of deserving population are not covered by KCR. We need KCR as the main loop + more than one Metro Bus routs to connect to this loop reaching to far ends of the city

If PPP seriously commits to deliver it , then they can cause a serious hit into this so called MQM mandate

actually both PPP and MQM cannot deliver it unless govt in center formally requests Japan to give the soft loan, and provide state 's guarantee.

It'll be a tussle between PMLN and PPP, on who takes the credit of KCR. MQM will be at losing end irrespective of it gets built or not.
PMLN however can take an edge on PPP. By giving a go head signal and completing formalities for KCR, also start its promised metro bus system. KCR will take anything between 4-5 (or forever) years to complete keeping in view PPP's history. while Metro bus can be delivered within 2 years, if Lahore Metro Bus is taken as an example.

Circular railway is a common sense solution for Karachi. It would have been the better option even for Lahore, but Shahbaz Sharif opted to go the quicker route.
Circular railway is easily expandable. Constructions costs will be higher, but eventual running costs will be less. It will accommodate far more people, and will not get stuck in traffic. Not sure why provinces still look to the fed govt for sovereign guarantees when they have NFC funds in hand. The process is seriously flawed.

agree with that, this same process of guarantee and other formalities delayed power generation projects before and provided provinces excuses to not work, this again can give them excuse of not being able to do something. this law needs to be changed.

Give Karachi circular railway, so that we can AT LEAST return back to 1960s.

Railways only can solve! Metro may create problems in Karachi.

Circular Railway definitely. A Bus system will not work in heavily congested roads of karachi. It has to be a combination of circular rail/monorail inside the city.
