Cinepax - the Pakistani moviegoer's experience

Re: Cinepax - the Pakistani moviegoer’s experience

The Lahore industry has been shouting for over a decade now that “we are on the verge of a cinematic revolution”. They did come with with a lot of good films, but not anything revolutionary or which would change the course of cinema in Pakistan. On the movies you’ve mentioned, Ajab Gul makes horrendous crap, the director/actress associated with Koi Tujh Sa Kahan has such an awful rep, its kind of scary to think the film she would come up with. After Ali Zafar opted out of Khuda Ke Liyey that film is in limbo. The only hope for now is the Mubasher Lucman film. And I think that film a little “off” [with the drinking/dancing/skimpy outfits] for the Pak masses to accept, though personally I am looking forward to it. At the moment, they ought to make low budget, experimental flicks with loads of new people [or “new talent” as we like to say], which recover the money. They should use these new chain of theatres to build some following. And save Pak cinema in the process too
