A big hats off to the gents (and they are all gents; it’s a real sausage-fest over there) at Film School Rejects for knocking it out of the park on April Fool’s Day; shaming any other sites that try to sneak in just one (lame) fake news story by instead creating an entire day’s worth of content from April 1st, 1980. I’m a big fan of This Month in VHS, but their Geocities-worthy gif of a theater marquee is really what ties it all together, I think.

Normally I have little interest when actors are merely ‘in talks’, but I wish Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston got far more big screen work, so here’s to hoping he does end up alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in Larry Crowne.

Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline director Henry Selick has returned to Disney after signing a long-term deal to make stop-motion animated features exclusively for the studio. I know that DreamWorks and Sony have made a lot of progress with their animated films of late, but between Selick, Pixar, and US rights to Hayao Miyazaki’s films, Disney sure has the animation market on lock down.
