Speaking of cheap thrills, seems at least one of the many old **Janis Joplin **biopics is back on track, now with **Amy Adams **instead of Zooey Deschanel in the lead as the substance-abusing singer. *FearNet *had the scoop](Horror | SYFY) in an interview with producer Wyck Godfrey, while *Deadline *has confirmed it](Yes, Amy Adams Confirmed For Janis Joplin). And turns out the great Fernando Meirelles (City of God) will be at the helm. I wonder if he’ll focus a lot of the film on her romantic 1970 sobriety vacation to Rio. That’d be the only appropriate angle for Adams, too.
