Re: CII rules that Pakistanis should be allowed to get married to children
Why do we see homosexuality in western societies where girls and boys as young as 13-14 indulge in sex?
In western societies homosexuality is amongst those who are naturally inclined towards homosexuality (cause of genetic malfunction or hormonal imbalances), something present in every society, though people of such natural causes (genetic malfunction or hormonal imbalances) in conservative society like Pakistan keep their urge suppressed and controlled, but show up in western societies openly, hence we can spot them easily in western societies.
On the other hand, homosexuality in some Pakistani communities (that is increasing amongst so-called religiously inclined communities with closed mind) is not due to natural malfunction in gene or hormonal imbalances, but due to enforced need caused by sex segregation, gender inequality, no respect and rights for females, lack of access to even legal relationship (marriage in some Pakistani community is expensive for men), and various other factors that are not due natural causes. Rape of young boys and females (girls of all ages, women and young girls) are also common in Pakistan due to same reasons.

Errr, last time I checked there is no scientific study to suggest homosexuality is a result of 'genetic malfunction' or there's a gene for homosexuality. So you might wanna be careful with you say, there are some what more decent ways to convey homophobia.
Male homosexuality influenced by genes, US study finds
An American study has found new evidence that male homosexuality is influenced by genes – but environmental and social factors also play a role.
In the study, which was presented at a Science of Sex and Attraction event in Chicago, scientists tested the DNA of more 400 sets of gay brothers and their heterosexual relatives, to find out if some men are predisposed to being gay.
Genetic factors account for between 30 per cent and 40 per cent of what decides whether a man is gay or straight, according to the research.
Scientists found that a region of the X chromosome Xq28 had an impact on male sexuality, as did a stretch of DNA on chromosome 8.
Dr Michael Bailey, of Northwestern University, Illinois, who col-led the study said: “Sexual orientation has nothing to do with choice. Our findings suggest there may be genes at play – we found evidence for two sets that affect whether a man is gay or straight.
“But it is not completely determinative; there are certainly other environmental factors involved.”

Don't try any lame slander with me. Provide me a proper verified scientific study to suggest homosexuality is genetic or a result of "genetic malfunction".
Bhai ... Sorry agar aap bura maan gayea. I did not meant to hurt you ... :)
Anyhow, read my last post above for reference ... regarding scientific study on homosexuality and gene.
Re: CII rules that Pakistanis should be allowed to get married to children
I'd like to call myself secular and one the ways I practice my secularism is by not getting involved in any religious debates, discussions and diatribe. I rather watch water turn into gas on low flames than take part in any discussion prove how my religion or sect is better than the person standing next to me. I consciously avoid such threads. On same token, I refrain from attacking religious personalities, figures and spokespersons for sake of it.
However since I have played my part to divert the thread, I think it'd be nice if I leave the permises after at least saying something related to the topic. There is no doubt Muslim clergy one the whole has been embarrassingly disappointing, dangerous, loathsome and absolutely in recent times. They deserve every bit of criticism and bashing that comes their way and I have no time to feel sorry for them or defend them in any way. In fact, I firmly believe, it's about time people start questioning these Mullahs that how come despite high rates of poverty, hunger, inequality, illiteracy rate, they've never pushed their weight behind the idea of establishing a welfare state - yes the type of welfare state which was proud feature of Hazrat Umar's rule? When was the last time a religious figure vociferously spoke about the rights of widows and orphans?
Instead of calling big press conferences to legitimatise child marriages, why haven't these people ever said a word against child abuse, child labour, child molestation, child trafficking, child mortality and hundreds of other issues concerning children? The genuinely humanist and concerned citizens of Pakistan need to come forward and openly challenge the clergy on these issues. Invite them for an open debate, let's have them talk about 'Islam' in relations to all these issues.
I agree with the poster who said because of these Mullahs, there will be time when people will make conscious effort to separate themselves from Islam instead of submitting themselves to it.
While you have the hugely loathsome issue of child marriages, I would like to know what is Muslims' fascination with "Islam encourages marrying young" idea? Presumably, there's a hadith that says that but why is this saying often perceived as semi farz ruling?

this is a very important point made by this poster ....so stop laughing or making fun. In muslim societies, people will simply laugh at it because they are taught fr0m day one that homosexuality is a very bad thing a taboo without realizing that in some cases, homosexuality is NOT A CHOICE rather people are interested in it because that is how they were born and it was part of their genetic DNA hormonal imbalance..and that is why, those people simply dont have sexual interest in opposite sex...i mean otherwise why the hell a man would want to spend rest of this life with another man or woman w/ with a woman ? we shd accept those people as part of our society, give them full rights and dont feel any shame or embarrassment in calling them our friends. They have right to satisfy their sexual needs just like we do it with an opposite sexual partner.
and there are folks who practice homosexuality because of their sexual frustration or whatever reason and not because of any genetic problem...these folks shd be handled strictly and punished under a legal framework.
of-course, the challenge would be how to segment these 2 groups...but first and foremost we shd at least accept the existence of this segmentation
Re: CII rules that Pakistanis should be allowed to get married to children
WTH, who is this group, and who is letting them come out with these absurd doctrines????
Even the underage thing is so debatable religiously, many scholars maintain Aisha (R) wasn't THAT young when she was married. Anyway, who is letting this crazy man make such policies??
Re: CII rules that Pakistanis should be allowed to get married to children
Maybe what Pakistan needs most is to secularise. Shariah is overtly abused at the best of time. We're a Muslim country via default either way as the majority profess Islam.
