CII - doosra rukh!

This always amazes me…we start making judgement about everything without reading a full transcript (including me). so today i did some search to understand what exactly CII proposed and i was so surprised to read many women-friendly recommendations by CII to curb many evil practices in our society. all these positive recommendations were always ignored by our ulemas in the past…so i was kind of surprised

but how-come press only picked wife beating clause and made so much fuss about it and ignored everything else?

I know there are many objectionable recommendations (in addition to wife beating) vy CII but here are some key positive recommendations about women as well. why cant our parliament do some legislation around these recommendations? i doubt vaderas would like some of these recommendations.

Property

  • Women will have the right to own property
  • Women have the right to bequeath property

Marriage

  • Three consecutive declarations of divorce will be punishable (punishment unspecified)
  • A guardian’s permission is not required for a woman who has reached maturity to contract a nikah
  • A wife has the right to khula if she forfeits alimony
  • A wife may move the court in case of ‘excesses’ by husband
  • Contracting a marriage for Vani or dispute resolution is punishable (punishment unspecified)
  • Contracting a woman’s marriage to a Quran will be a crime carrying a ten-year sentence
  • Ban on the request and display of dowry

State

  • Women will be permitted to participate in politics
  • Women are not responsible for participation in combat missions
  • It is forbidden to kill a woman in war
  • Women may become judges

Religion

  • Forcing any woman to convert carries a three-year prison sentence
  • A woman cannot be killed/executed for ‘leaving Islam’
  • A woman of sound mind is permitted to convert to Islam

Crime

  • Acid attacks and violent acts against women such as throwing acid on women should be thoroughly investigated
  • Ban on honour killing, Karo kari, and siyah kari

Work and education

  • Women should not be forced into difficult, ‘labour-intensive’ work

Re: CII - doosra rukh!

Above is correct but as our media need some masala so they highlight only controversial things. Still as wrote by other poster things are shown in such that Islam is made out of date. For most unclear issues ( which are taken literally not meaningfully from Quran ) justification given by many is that it was applicable only during early days..

Our CII need to be more clear about such issues. Rather than confusing more .. At the moment complete system of islam is not being implemented . Things are implemented partly hence due to missing links things looks confusing.

For me until the Hokoomah is not become full responsible for all requirement of common man they cannot apply other social rulings as the result will come out bad.

e.g. govt cut hand of a thief but not take care of his family so he dont need to steal... Even after that he steal , he will be fully responsible for his act while his family is un affected. ??

All financial needs of women are not fully taken care by the responsible men in the family yet they insist on taking all decision on behalf of these women.

Re: CII - doosra rukh!

everyone on this forum knows i am anti-mullah type guy....but when i read CII recommendations, I was surprised that over 60% of them were women friendly. now why cant this parliament do some legislation around those recommendations unless waderas dont want to free women. so why blame ulemas for that? ball is in waderas court.

Re: CII - doosra rukh!

it's not in their interests thats why you'll never see it implemented
