Chutneys

I don’t know what this particular one is called ( and even if it is a chutney or no ) but it has the following ingredients and i’ll ask anyway..

Tomato Ketchup
Finely chopped onions
Fresh coriander
Nimak mirchay
AND
Imlee

I don’t know what to do to the imlee. I mean you usually buy it in a block right? so how am i liquidifying it?? Has anyone ever tried the above?? It is gorgeus when made

PS: And whilst we’re discussing chutneys…anyone know how to make the plum one ??

The only chutnee I know

3 Steamed Tomatoes
Chopped coriander and G chillies
Finley chopped lehsan
pinch of Salt

take the skin off the tomatoes, mash the pulp with a fork add chopped vegies and salt

The fresh coriander and lehsan give off such a yummy aroma once mixed with the garam garam pulp of tomatoes.

I'll check the imli chutney with my mum. I know you add water to it, redchillies, maybe suagr too and boil till its thick. Then u strain it to get rid of the seeds and thread thingies. But i'll check if I missed out anything.

^^ thas about right hon!

Awww Mehnaz is it desi food that you don't know how to cook, if thats the case than just watch your mom cook for a week and you will catch on, its easy, the hardest part is making round rotis. Start cooking with your mommy.

I am so bloody hungry but this guy won;t leave so I can eat some unhealthy stuff :( all this chutney talk is making my mouth water.

FF ta love. I shall try. So i just pop the block in some paani and boil then strain.

^ FF is correct.Leave the imli in water for at least 30 minutes and then boil it.

DD add some red chillies and sugar too.
