Church Vandalized in Delhi, Archbishop Says There is a Pattern in Attacks
Re: Churches being attacked in India
All in Delhi? While conversion attempts are reported from UP. ![]()
BTW, Delhi had not a very good record when it comes to destruction of religious places related to minorities. 1984 riots saw destruction of 70 gurdwaras in just two days.
Re: Churches being attacked in India
not to worry, moodi je will control the media and make it look like church attacked RSS first.

There were other incidents also in Delhi in the last few weeks of Churches being vandalized. Any news if those were also drunkards for some silly bets?

Re: Churches being attacked in India
These incidents cannot be taken at face value. With Modi govt at the center, these rats keep coming up with new things to pin on the govt.
Re: Churches being attacked in India
How can you convert to Hinduism? From my knowledge there is no “conversion” process.
Sorry ![]()

Re: Churches being attacked in India
Nothing can be ruled out here…This 2009 incident is a case in point. All 7 arrested were Christians.

Mangalore, Mar 19: In connection with indulging in rampage in a banana plantation belonging to Babbukatte Nityadhar Church and trying to disrupt peace in the region, Ullal policemen arrested seven persons on Wednesday March 18.
They are Jayson Verghese (23), Vijit Sunny Rozario (21), Araki Alfred (20), Roshan Cutinho (26), all from Nityadhar Nagar and Ronald Roshan (22), a resident of Kuttar Prakash Nagar. They were produced in the court on Wednesday.

On Monday morning, the banana plantation was found to have been damaged heavily to look as if people belonging to a particular community had barged into the plantation, and a saffron flag had been planted there, signifying that Hindu outfits had been involved with the destruction. The incident took place at a time when Hindu Samajotsav was being organized in the city.
The policemen said that during interrogation, the arrested persons revealed, they wanted to disturb the peace in the region by projecting the incident as a handiwork of a particular community.

Banana Plantation that was damaged
While making inquiries about those who inflicted the above damage, the policemen could by chance, lay their hands on the two accused, who had burnt down a motor bike on November 30 near Pandit House. Joy D’Souza (20) and Calvin Johnson D’Souza, from Nityadhar Nagar, accused of this act, were arrested and produced in the court on Wednesday. The policemen are also looking at the possibility of these two having been also involved with the destruction of the banana plantation.
Under the guidance of the city rural inspector Lingappa Poojary, Ullal sub-inspector of police Shivprakash has been conducting investigation.

And here is the political motivation
Archdiocese puts out a message: Vote carefully | The Indian Express
Following a spate of attacks on churches in the last two months, priests and members from the Delhi Archdiocese have been sending out messages asking people to vote “carefully”.
Father Balraj Lourduswamy, from Our Lady of Graces Church in Vikaspuri — which was attacked two weeks ago — and others have been sending out messages through texts and WhatsApp to their congregation members asking them to choose the next government with caution.
“Ever since the BJP has come to power, there is insecurity among minorities, especially the Christians… It may become difficult for us to practice our faith freely. Please make sure to make the right choice to elect a right govt whether for state or centre. Please forward it to as many people as possible so that we may celebrate our rich cultural heritage, religious harmony…,” Father Lourduswamy’s message reads.
Though Lourduswamy claimed that the message is his “personal concern for India” and there were no directions from the higher authorities to send out such messages, Delhi Archdiocese spokesperson, Father Savarimutthu Shankar said, “Officially, the Church has not taken a line. But the general belief is that voting for the Congress may be a waste. The fight is between the AAP and the BJP… This is a big stage for the AAP and a crucial test for (PM) Modi. Many from other states such as Nagpur and Haryana have come to Delhi for pre-election work and RSS can do anything to win…,” Father Shankar told Newsline.
“Traditionally, the Church never takes a line. We keep ourselves strictly to the realm of religion and political choices are very individualistic,” Father Shankar said.
He also expressed regret over the fact that St Alphonsa’s church in Vasant Kunj, which was attacked on Monday, did not have CCTV cameras.
However, another church near St Alphonsa’s, belonging to a different denomination, was left unharmed. This had given rise to speculation that the “conversion debate” revolving around the Roman Catholic Church may have instigated the attacks.
In fact, in all the five attacks in the last two months, Roman Catholic churches have been targeted.

Re: Churches being attacked in India
Modi govt. would never do this. Mr. Modi has been known for his tolerance towards minorities.

Re: Churches being attacked in India
What BS !! All this happening in Delhi right before the Delhi elections where BJP is a contender to form the next government. If all else fails, this would definitely sway those fence sitters who haven't decided whom to vote for yet.
Re: Churches being attacked in India
Exactly. It is all a conspiracy. Sri Modi has shown his tolerance in the past.
Nothing to see here. Move along folks.
