Chupan Chupai

Salaam and hello to all. So I recently saw the new Pakistani movie ?Chupan Chupai? with Ahsan Khan and Neelam Muneer Khan. I was quite disgusted. I was born and raised in the USA and am pretty modern but honestly not super religious. I must say I try to be modest and all and I don?t wear hijab and don?t think I ever will but I like to be fashionable and modern. Anyways, I noticed how hard this movie was trying to be 2 major things: LIKE BOLLYWOOD AND MODERN/WESTERN

My theory is that there are people being paid in Pakistan to destroy our culture. Just look at that ticker on the bottom of some Urdu news channel and they misspell things on purpose. Second off, this movie was not just showing modern clothing and acts but those which are against Islam. I myself never preach but this movie disgusted me. Neelam was shown wearing sleeveless and I thought that was bad but then they show her in short dresses and even shorts. Why is it even called Islamic republic if they can?t keep within Islamic bounds? I?m guessing they are trying to give the youth ideas. Also, trust me,I am not asking for the actresses to wear hijab. I actually discourage that. People should be able to wear what they want at home and parties but at least keep our culture alive in Pakistan. You can still show modern western clothes without being vulgar. Honestly, if you met me you would say even my dressing isn?t halal(I wear shirts that cover me but don?t go past the bum-some people consider that haram. I also wear clothing to my exact size and don?t wear loose like some Muslims think you should. Just sayin).

Next let?s not forget the scene that they showed neelam kissing Ahsan. This made me lose respect for both actors as I consider this cheap and trying to be like Bollywood. Don?t get me started on the songs. I was hoping they wouldn?t have songs that were lip synced to. I was hoping songs in passing in scenes where they showing the movie plot going forward if that makes sense. Why do we have to try to be like Indians? We are so much better. Not to mention more cultured. Most culture in India comes from Muslims. Honestly thanks to Muslims they have some culture. Just my two cents. RANT OVER

Was there even a movie like that? I'm so out of touch with lolly/bollywood

I saw it recommended on Netflix! So I watched half of it then turned it off. It wasn?t that good. It was showing Ahsan Khan, a kidnapper as a chalak con man and glorifying it

I'm looking forward to watch "Manto" on Netflix

I do not watch Pakistani content except for old PTV stuff but just recently chanced upon Ashir Azeem?'s Maalik. While the production-wise it was an entry level attempt at Hollywood standards but I liked the patriotic theme of it. However the open display of drinking and borderline vulgar dance scenes were big turn offs and I was surprised this kind of content could pass censorship. Following that I watched Punjab Naheen Jaoongi. Again, the story had good selling points in showing the traditional lifestyles & values yet it was laced with unnecessary doses of drinking, intimacy and ultra-modern dressing which don?t go hand in hand with cultural and religious values. Yes all kinds of vice things happen in Pakistan but why flaunt them as if these are acceptable norms?

It is ironic that at a time when major fashion brands like Nike, Gap etc are promoting versatile versions of modest Islamic dressing (even if purely from commercial PoV), accepting hijab-wearing models on cat-walks, sports organizations & beauty pageant contests accommodating Islamic dressing, it is our own types who are competing against each other to show how liberal and 'open-minded' they are.

This erosion of core Islamic values can also be seen whenever there is a tragedy of epic proportions and people, specially the younger generation raised on youtube and cable news rush out to stage candle light vigils, holding candles in their hands like idiots, not realizing that this tradition of paying respect to the victims has no meaning and no roots in our society. Whatever happened to offering Fateha and making Dua? Oh no, that would look too backwards and outdated on TV cameras for these wannabe enlightened ones.

Yes it?s a shame our movie industry is taking off but in the wrong direction. I wish they would stick to our culture. I love old PTV dramas. Those were the golden days!! My dad made sure that we watched those dramas and as a result I learned to speak Urdu pretty well and appreciate my culture. I am so saddened that our culture is being destroyed. I never saw those movies you mentioned. I only saw Chuoan chupai as I surprisingly came across is on Netflix. I highly think they are purposefully trying to ruin our culture and are paying to sell their soul to the devil! It?s happening everywhere and for it to happen in Pakistan is somewhat surprising but not really.

watch trailer if ok then watch

"I was born in the USA and I'm pretty modern"
-Proceeds to write entire long paragraphs about how Pakistani culture is being eroded because of a movie-

Lmao, get a load of this.

Quite a rubbish movie it was.

Bad movies releases... and Netflix is not an exception...
