- Chunkey Pandey is looking good for a second innings. This writer met up with him on the sets (in Panvel, between Mumbai and Pune) of Govinda’s first home production ‘Sukh’ starring Govinda, Chunkey Pandey, Preeti Jhangiani and Aarti Chabria.

Chunkey has a very interesting role in the film. He plays a fashion photographer who loves to shoot models in nude and semi-nude.
Latest, he has been added to the hi-profile cast of Venus Production’s ‘Elaan’ (Mithun Chakraborty, Rahul Khanna, John Abraham, Amisha Patel, Lara Dutta) being directed by Vikram Bhatt. And he is likely to sign up Vinta Nanda’s ‘White Noise’ starring Rahul Bose and Tabu.
After a good start with films like ‘Tezaab’ (Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit) and ‘Aankhen’ (Govinda, Chunkey), life was not easy for Chunkey in Bollywood. Roles started drying up. And the smart cookie that he is, he shifted his focus to Bangladesh and became a big name there. Simple policy! Make hay ‘where’ the sun shines.
Plus, Chunkey has another film called ‘Yahoo’ which also stars Govinda. However ‘Yahoo’ had been stalled. Chunkey reveals, “It is soon likely to be revived.”
Plans to do more Bangladeshi films? “Not at present. Things are looking good once again, here,” he informs sipping his tea.
‘Sukh’ is complete. The film was completed in 26 days flat. *
