Chrysler spin off

so Daimler dumps chrysler.
the funny thing is that that CNN just linked being owned by a german company as one reason it did not do well financially.
errr excuse me the reason is the crappy union structure, and putting bad products out.

what do you think is going to be the impact on chrysler prices..new and used. etc

Re: Chrysler spin off

what? no more annoying German guy in commercials?

Re: Chrysler spin off

no, maybe they go back to annoying american guy in commercials. i.e. lee iococca...oh shyt..they did it already..twice.

and when they merged everyone thought that daimler will fix chrysler's quality issues, looked like mercedes got worse.

so the spinoff makes sense.

wonder how the private equity group will deal with unions

Re: Chrysler spin off

I thought the Germans could fix any thing - including crappy amreekan car companies. Whats the problem - Laziness ?

Re: Chrysler spin off

many issues..ranging from red tape to unions to bad mgmt.
Germans had their own problems, mercedes has pretty pathetic reliability ratings for the last few years, so it appears as they tried to fix chrysler, they started getting sucked into teh same downward spiral. Its good that they have detched themselves. it was way too big, not like GM-saab or ford-jaguar type of thing

I must hsay I have liked chrysler styling compared to ford or Gm a lot more. I guess engines are the issue and overall build quality
